Hmmmmm… if it’s in the interests of the Shareholders.

Chelsea, just blew £1Billion and have then just sold 10% odd to someone, to buy more clubs to plant their wasted spends upon (etc).

Noticed, his head (body language) shook “No” whilst the public presentation was “We’d be open to it”…

How much “Next level” would a £400m odd injection, plus £200m+ Naming rights achieve?

Here's my hot take. We're not getting a stadium naming rights deal as long as we have the NFL partnership. That's the innoficial naming rights deal. The club is having its name marketed to millions of viewers whenever they mention the games in London.

Absolutely.

Levy's recent quotes alluded to that. Would take an amazing offer to beat the Marketing value for the THFC brand to have the NFL and Beyonce performing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Levy has always been and will always be a very shrewd business mind.

But

This is still a valid take as well. At least worth someone asking him. Nobody wants to see us "do a Boehly" but there is a place between what Roman and City have done and what Levy has done. Then there is FSG that just made better football decisions and had a more flexible model for recruiting legit world class platers when they were in a position to push on.

This rebuild is something Levy has been a part of before successfully with Poch. Big question is what they do if it gets us there and thereabouts again.

Personally, have no position, as the sale would likely be to a vulgar pack of nihilists, plus the naming rights would likely be a Corporation with all the same Nihilistic types leading their way.

When we are talking 10% though, then private equity comes in who are not leading the club (could live with that much more comfortably).

Agree it’s not going to happen, unless/until we get a permanent place in the NFL, or Win something big to elevate our prestige above Lewis/Levy’s repelling valuations.

I can't really see the marketting value of the club name. Or least, I can't see any way to quantify it.

If we sold the name, we would get tangible cash. It's then the brand that has to work out whether their investment has attracted any new customers. Which is almost impossible for them to quantify.
As it is, in what way is our name being on a ticket for a Beyonce concert making us any money?

Reminds me of the dumb argument for the royal family really. Absolutely no way to measure income on that but people shout it in your face as if it's a matter of fact because they want it to be.

ALL that said, given what players cost and earn these days, is it even worth selling our name? I don't think so.

How do you quantify the value of most marketing?

The name Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium now gets millions more eye balls everytime there is a concert or an NFL game.

How many of those knew the name of the club before?

That line about the share holders! Not the fans, not the players, just the money men. Unbelievable.

I just can’t stand the bloke. I appreciate it’s all pointless and he could end up staying another 50 years.

It’s his tone and phony sincerity. A sort of ‘aww shucks’ shrug of the shoulders. ‘I guess I made a mistake guys! Here’s hoping I get it right this millennium!’

Yeah you don’t appear on bloomberg and give that interview unless you want investment coming forward. He doesn’t have to do that at all of course and we’ve only seen a minute of the interview so there’s zero conflict but why do the interview anyway?

On a different note Kilpatrick says the club is a listed company. They haven’t been for years. You can’t be getting that basic bit of information wrong as a journalist
