The biggest problem here is the old adage "Look at what people do, not what they say." If Levy really wanted to change the culture and back the manager over the players, he'd be ruthless about selling on players that have let Ange down, but he's been very far from ruthless and you always get the impression that Spurs is treated as a bit of a country-club by some of the players. State of the art training ground and facilities, without a lot of undue pressure to perform. They can go through the motions and run through a few years because Levy typically isn't going to let their contract run out, neither is he going to aggressively push them out of the club if they fail to perform.

Just another reminder about how poorly this club is run.

Do people remember when we made a derisory bid for Trossard in January 2023?

Which was rejected of course.

So in typical Levy fashion, we then went for the cheap option

Who turned out to be so shit, we signed Manor Soloman the following summer on a free

Who was so shit we sent him out on loan and signed Werner on a loan

View: https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1744797397035712769

Who was so shit but we couldn't sign anyone else so we resigned him on loan again for this summer

If anyone needs reminding about how damn right penny pinching Levy and the club are. We could have just signed Trossard and had that position covered for the past two years.

Buy cheap, buy thrice as the saying goes.

We will never be a serious club on the pitch under Levy.

Great post!

The main grievance against Levy at this time when we are past half way in the transfer window is that we have only bought 1 player. Whilst there is no room in our Europa squad we should have replaced Regulion in the PL squad and Werner who is a waste of space.

Because they took a stake in Rangers in the late 90's before they considered Spurs , ENIC had to sell their other football interests when they took over from Sugar.
One article says Levy has no interest in football, BBC says he is a lifelong fan.

That’s my point. Constantly posted on here as some kind of Levy gotcha, when it’s got fuck all to do with us.

There was no passion to buying Rangers. Just financial. Buying us? Maybe the same. Maybe Levy is a lifelong fan. None of us know.

Plenty to anger up the blood about right now without making shit up.

So the club is being poorly run as the original poster says?

If being poorly run means making poor player purchases then 90% of teams are being poorly run. I still expect us to be investing better everywhere on the pitch.

The overarching sentiment of his post was that we are being poorly run because we are 'penny-pinching' which as a rule is not quite true based on the examples I gave

Bullseye 🎯

It shows why the pair got involved with football.......
What they hope to achieve from football .......
Their financial motivation from football........
......And therefore provides an insight as to why they've used one of the biggest names of the English Game and sodomised their fan base to their their own financial ends, while the club in question continues to be the perennial whipping boys of our 2 most bitter and hated rivals.

They've been dog shit for years but this is as bad as they have ever been

Completely out of touch , and don't seem to give a solitary fuck about the mess we find ourselves in

Keep thinking maybe there is something going on in the background with a takeover and they are just trying to muddle through the season

Probably wishful thinking but for all the criticism you can level at these wankers. , they have always acted in the past when it's become clear that the manager is a lame duck , I've never seen this level of disregard before

Add to that the shit show of a transfer window last summer where we essentially signed kids. The blatant disregard thus far in this window and the unprecedented butchering of the wage bill..It does offer a tiny glimmer of hope that its some kind of exit strategy

This isn’t my biggest hate with these speculative leaches. I understand Lewis made an investment and the primary financial concern is maximising that - I can deal with that.

The bigger barrier to our on field success is not the self sustaining / no owner investment strategy but the operational weaknesses of Levy and his scumbag exac board.

If Levy retired or died tomorrow and we brought in Paul Barber as CEO (under Lewis’s family), and gave him free reign to recruit a new team and make decisions, we would have a far better chance of success. Short sighted and under qualified scum like Levy, and that decrepit old pungent ghoul Cullen need bombing from our payroll. If the bald shithead became Chairman or a non exec with Barber having CEO management of the FC happy days. People obsess about lack of spending, players etc but these fucking useless cunts set culture of all 500 employees and its awful, has been awful for decades and will only get worse as they age into their 70’s. Stale, don’t take responsibility and blame others. Scum

You see I agree with what you say regarding penny pinching, I don't think we have to spend a lot to get better , some of our better players over the years have been quite cheap.
But you have to have the right organisation to buy players when they are needed, we need to buy youth and experienced, some potential some proven. We require evolution not revolution every few years.
Levy/ ENIC have completely failed in this regard , the playing style lurches one way then another, the complete lack of strategy is a disgrace.
Please don't tell me that its all sorted now with Lange and Munn as we have heard all that before, going back to Arnessen, Comolli, Paraticci and rest.
You would have thought that after a quarter of century things would be in place to allow us to compete but as we can see in the last few seasons that is simply not the case.
The club is being run (football wise) poorly and quite honestly it is amazing how Levy turns up every game. The man has no shame.

Call me stoopid, but I STILL don't quite fully grasp the idea that ENIC/LEVY can't see that running/owning a SUCCESSFUL, TROPHY WINNING team ON the pitch, would make them even MORE money off it??

Why do you think clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man Utd have SUCH global 'brand' appeal? (The type of world club domination that I assume Lewis/Levy are after)

It's not JUST because of Ronaldo and Messi (though they wouldn't even CONSIDER coming to Spurs)
...it's because of previous, and current sustained successes ON the pitch, that have cemented their name or "brand" across the globe.

Man Utd are a shadow of the team they were 20 years ago, yet STILL get 70k plus fans in each week...
Give it 20 more years of mediocrity, and even their Glory Fans will have moved on, or given up by then.

WE are trying to create a global super brand, but without the on field success to back it up! ...if anything we GACK IT UP!

Glory fans and tourists will only align themselves to a failing model for so long, before THEY ALSO get bored with the lack of success, and eventually stop coming, and go back to the TRULY SUCCESSFUL CLUBS! Y'know, like PSG, AL-NASSER, LA GALAXY!!!! (I'm being sarcastic, OBVS!) But glory fans gonna glory!

THAT'S what's gonna hit Levy hard... Not a load of yellow balloons released at random times during a game!

We need success to breed success... Winning trophies will raise our profile even more, surely?
We're currently 8th in the richest club list....
...and that's with ONE trophy to show for it in 20+ years.... IMAGINE our potential global standing if we DID start winning something?

WHY can't ENIC see that? They've given us a fragile glass ceiling of mediocrity, which we're all too happy to meekly bounce off, like a poxy yellow balloon...

But if they REALLY put their minds (and financial clout) to it, then that ceiling is THERE TO BE BROKEN....

...and then the Sky (Sports) is the limit!
