A 247 from Seven Sisters is not that much of a problem nor is a 30m walk.
A 30m walk might be fine for you. Fancy borrowing my irregular heartbeat and my above average arse size and see how you get on then?

When we hit the concession ticket prices, all I heard was “won’t someone think of the pensioners”, now we are fine with them doing a fucking Tough Mudder to get to the ground?

Wasn't a pipe dream as the stadium plans were approved in 2011 same year as TFL were lobbied to extend the Victoria Line. All the other stuff about Stratford etc was never going to happen it was all political manouvering to get some funding from Haringey Council and the Mayor, Levy/ENIC had been buying up land between Northumberland Pk and Park Lane for years they weren't going to let all that go to waste.

On non match days it's easy to get to the stadium if coming from central London, Victoria Line and change at Seven Sisters onto the overground to WHL or Liverpool St direct to WHL.
I went to the club store an a Saturday non match day a few weeks ago there were queues waiting to get in at opening time plus on non match days the stadium is highly accessible by car , you just park in Sainsbury's and walk up to shop, stadium tour or F1.

It doesn’t really matter what was or wasn’t approved then. This country is broke and if there is any chance of getting money in from a country like Qatar to part fund projects they will make it happen.

well on that we agree.

But the easier it is to get somewhere the more people will do it, and do it more frequently.

i get the train into Victoria and then a walk from Tott Hale. It's 25 mins but you have to know the way because it's back streets. Now there's no way I'd do that tube and walk on a non match day to go the club store or whatever. But if it's a 10 min walk from Northumberland Pk then I might well do.

2009 was a different world for Spurs. We had crowds of 36,000 and the EUFA was the limit of our achievment.

Now it's 62,200 and if we don't get CL then the season (which has been trophyless) is deemed a failure.

Most bods who go to matches know how they're going to get there. That's not the case with NFL or Beyonce. The last time we held an international midweek it was chaos because unless you go regularaly you havent a clue.

Spurs fan ST I sit next to travels over 100 miles to matches and hardly misses a game and gets to all the away games when he has enough ticketing points.
St's on the other side of me are a couple in their seventies live around 25 miles away in the middle of Essex, come in by car park up away from stadium, get 34 bus to the Angel then walk to stadium and vice versa on way home, just for the record none of them are anti Levy. ST two seats away from me lives in Basingstoke , never misses a game , one if front of me lives in Guildford and once again neither anti Levy.
Takes all sorts .
A lot depends on what else they have going on in their lives.
I have a full on job Monday to Friday and a young child. There's not enough hours in the week to add in a 6 hour Spurs match day, especially when, personally, I feel about as disinterested with the whole club as I have in 20 years.

Only if they would foot the bill and the way the Victorial line works if you started sending some of the trains to Northumberland Pk the service from Seven Sisters to Walthamstow Central would suffer.
I don't see what is wrong with walking the mile and a quarter to the tube stations it keeps people fit.

Twickenham holds 82,000 , the nearest tube is two miles away and the ordinary rail stations are further away than WHL and NP stations and they seem to manage OK and it's not easier by car at Twickers, got stuck there once on a match day it was terrible.

I agree. Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale are close by. WHL overground too. The only reason the club will want a tube station nearer the ground is to service the extra events. It won’t be for us. If they wanted it for football fans they’d have pushed harder in the past. Actually the extra events for the stadium (whatever number it now is) probably help further a business case for it with TFL as does the hotel development.

What if that’s what this is all about? ENIC are trying to get extra investment in to fund this tube line?

If the Qataris are investing heavily in the area they will get a tube station particularly if they are funding it or part funding it. Can’t see Sadiq or any mayor turning down a Man City style area regeneration.

The local council will be even more unhelpful to a Qatari owner unless the brown envelopes start flying about!

They’ve done nothing to help get the new stadium built or help with the club driven regeneration plans

Think it's all very complex and the talk of extension to the Victoria Line has been going on for years before the stadium plans , it was talked about in 2002, if the Government ever decide to go ahead with Crossrail 2 then a Victoria line extension is not needed .
There was an article somewhere that I can't find about the extension that stated that the lines up to the Northumberland Park are just slow speed service lines and would need upgrading to take fully loaded tube trains , of course if some oil rich owners offered to do it all I am sure the Mayor etc would love it.
As far as ENIC trying to get funding think it's more to do with the hotel and residential towers, as far as I know nothing has been done on the hotel site since August.

I’ve done the walk about 15 times. Has a quadruple bypass in 2009, goy a small hole in the heart, had SVT 6 years ago when heartbeat rocketed 5o 240 bpm ( stopped and jumpstarted twice 5o get normal bpm back) and the electrics in one chamber don’t work. Good walks keep me in good nick.

Stop making my excuses for being a lazy cunt look bad please. Thank you.

To be fair to the council they did approve the residential tower plans which doesn't include any cheaper social housing , a point which was made by the new leader of Haringey Council in 2018 when Clair Kober was ousted, he then visited the stadium in a RED shirt, tosser. !!!

Just reading about the ineos story trying to cut short the sponsorship deal with us 2 years early multi million sponsorship apparently. What a pickle they must be in. Crazy to think they sponsor us 😂

its also a "habit", mate I had at work was a Man U ST holder, went to every home game travelling from doncaster (2hrs each way most times) this was when fergie was stil there so they were winning cups still
anyway one season he kept his season ticket but didnt go to matches just sold the tickets, next season he gave up the season ticket said he found other things to do (he had been going for 20yrs)

I wouldn't say that was strictly true. Football games kicking off at 8pm or later these days on work days makes it nigh on impossible for me to attend. At that time of night every minute counts getting home. If I miss 1 train at Victoria the next one would be another 45-50 minute wait or worse if there's problems.

Throw in the ridiculous habbit of 10-20 minutes of injury time.
I can't get home at 1am and get up for work the next day.

Sure this has been shared already but just off the flight

I've got back into my cars in the last couple of years and will miss games going forward to do something there
