Think that interview pretty much confirms what I had thought when I heard about Vinai's appointment, suspect he will be responsible for most of the comms from the club when it comes to dealings with the board now. I appreciate the sentiments that were put across and wholeheartedly believe that Vinai is quite convicted in what he's saying, but I'll be waiting til September 1st to pass any judgement on the validity of Levy's claims about wanting to challenge for the CL/PL. If we actually get Mbeumo and 2/3 other signings of that profile to strengthen the first XI and push some of our "good-but-not-great" starters to the bench I will give it a bit of credence. If we consider the matter of strengthening the first XI "concluded" after the first big money signing it's more of the same.

Also think that kind of puts the Paratici rumours to bed. They spoke about Lange like next in line and Levy clearly trusts this Vinny bloke to hand over a lot of the things that Paratici might have done. Vini made it clear he was the one who chose Frank. Maybe they keep him as a consultant but no chance he gets a position on the board.

What I am wondering is why DL even bothers. Take a step back, run the day to day ops, make the business decisions and let Vinai be the link between management and the fans.

Think Paratici's role the first time around was only so expanded in terms of what would be expected of a DoF because Levy had finally acknowledged after the Mourinho and first Mason interim clusterfuck that he needed to step back from footballing decisions, but certainly Paratici's worldwide football ban would have put paid to any chances he had of being a public "face" of the club. I expect we are employing him purely for access to his phonebook of contacts.

Think it's abundantly clear from that interview that that's what the plan is, Levy probably only there for it to give credence to Vinai and signal a performative "passing of the reins" to the fans. Was pretty evident from the interview that Vinai is a far more skilled orator than Levy.

I’m going to take that at face value. Thought it was a great interview. DL and VV. both came across as pretty genuine punters there.

My biggest surprise is that we went for Vinai and paid the money for his wages, surely he’s got a young son with potential to be world class in a few years who we could put in his place and see how he develops? Would have saved loads.

September 1st may show direction of ambition, but it won’t show anymore than that.

Levy did say he wanted to win the league, but didn’t say when. I’d suggest that maybe half a dozen present members of our entire squad will still be here if or when we do eventually win it.

That’s a lot of squad movement, both in and out.

For whatever it's worth, Woolwich did get more aggressive in the transfer market during Vinai's tenure as CEO.

Something he will know very well is that transfer business speaks very loudly in a club's relationship with its fans, how critical that is from a PR perspective.

We'll see. Cold hard facts will tell the tale

22/23 window shows that Levy and co can go out and improve the first XI in 3 or 4 positions in one window, we should be looking to improve at least 2-3 first team spots every summer window until we are where we want to be with the squad, if we're serious about building towards PL/CL. Some of those players may come in and get replaced in the meantime, I'm looking at the likes of Johnson, Bentancur, Maddison, Vicario, they were quantifiably better than what we had but maybe not where we need to be, doesn't mean we shouldn't be looking constantly to improve the team even if some of those players are just bridges to a better player down the line.

DLs last words wouldn’t have been said for the craic. He knows he’s put himself in a position now where he has to stump up. We’re in for an exciting summer I think. The various appointments, most especially VV are a good omen for me and personally I’m all aboard the Levy train. Also as a side note why do people feel the need to refer to him as bald c### every time. Even if you don’t agree with the fella it’s just fucking crass. Find some new big grown up words.
Judge those words on the last couple days of the transfer window when we are grubbing around for another under 20 year old with no prem experience.

As a fellow bald cunt I feel entitled to call him a bald cunt but you are right and after watching that video I’d call him a spineless insincere horrible cunt that likes wine and is undoubtedly bald
