He's a shrewd businessman. Annoyingly shrewd. His risk-averse approach can look like a serious lack of ambition at times. But when you take a step back and see the overall picture, we have made huge progress in the last 20 years and all the foundations are there for us to become an ambitious big club who can compete year after year. Just taking that next step has been really slow!

Unpopular opinion but I thought he did well in the interview and credit to him for doing it. Actions do speak louder than words so he really needs to act on it now. We can't be back to square 1 again next summer looking for a new manager. We need to build momentum now!

Give any numpty access to 1 billion in finance for a new stadium and I think he/she can do a similar job

Honestly what is going on here
It’s not that easy

He did well / got lucky with the cost of money (would be massively higher now).

Not easy to secure the finance

Not easy to get planning, designs etc

Not easy to get it over the line!

He’s rancid but decent job on the stadium. Just wish he would focus on the atmosphere bow and really create a niche

He's a complete windbag

Bluffer of the highest order

At this point if they really cared they'd sell up, pocket a few billion and go find the next club to do the same with.
But they wont, there's still more juice to be squeezed from the lemon and they want every last drop.

Edit. They don't actually think they can achieve what we want with this model and attitude do they?

No, I wouldn’t think so. We have different wants to them
