Prior to JL handing over control to his offspring ENIC was essentially 2 people. Lewis and Levy. They were Tottenham Hotspur, with Levy being the public face.
Levy himself, on numerous occasions, said he wanted THFC to be run as a self sustaining model and a successful player trading hub.
Any money put in by ENIC would ultimately have been HIS money and flew in the face of his own ideology. There would be no cash injection under Levy because he himself would have pushed back against it.
This growing revisionism that Levy was somehow the victim and Lewis was the villain really needs to be nipped in the bud
Joe was always the sugar daddy, though. He had the capacity to actually invest serious cash as a billionaire himself, whereas Levy's wealth was effectively his share in Spurs.
They were both complicit and villains, but at any point, if Joe wanted to he could've invested big moolah in the club. Levy was basically just a pimped up salaryman with big shares.
That’s fair in terms of Levy’s values but as Joe owned the club he still could have done it. Seems like soon as the kids took over they looked at Levy and their dads work and thought fuck that.
I will say this if the club at the end of the window have:
Good manager: De Zerbi already.
Good DoF: Freedman or whoever.
Transfers: A top midfielder and top attacker who are suitable for De Zerbi on top of Robertson, Van Hecke, Senesi, Savinho.

Levy was the best paid director in the Premier League while he was marking his own homework.
No manager or player at Spurs, under Levy's control, was the best paid in the league.
Levy always opted to sack his best managers and sell his best players.
The controlled demolition of Martin Jol's team, Harry Redknapp's team and Pochettino's team, as well as their eventual sackings, were all carried out by Levy and stunted Tottenham's growth as a football club.
Levy continued to pick up his bonus payments for these acts of sabotage and was revered by many on here, and elsewhere, for his methods.
Levy was always the problem and as long as Joe Lewis got his financial reward he allowed Levy to carry on.
We've basically allowed a Gordon Brittas level cretin to run our football club in his own interests to the point that THFC became Daniel Levy FC.
Where were all the clubs in world football begging Daniel Levy to come and run their affairs after Spurs sacked him if that isn't the case?
