Most of them are owned by states or dodgy Russians. If Chelsea and city were not financially doped, I'm pretty sure spurs would have a league title and a few other trophies.

But we don't, lol. And clubs who aren't doped (Leicester, United, Woolwich, Liverpool, even the likes of Cardiff & Wigan) all do have trophies.

Won't be at all surprised if that list is added to before we win our next bit of silverware.

My expectations are to win trophies like our rivals do who are also owned by businessmen
We’ve had multiple opportunities in the last decade or so. We simply haven’t executed, for the most part, in the semifinals or finals we’ve reached.
Winning a league cup, while I’ll happily take it, isn’t going to change the club significantly or my relationship to it.

Every team in France, Germany and Scotland (other than 4) starts out with no chance of winning anything. Success on the field, if you measure it simply by winning trophies, is limited to a handful of clubs. Do you expect the other 95% to fold or sell up?

A club our size the expectations should be to be regularly competing and or winning.
But as you know we don't, I'm 54 and I doubt whether I will ever see this club win the league, or any serious trophy again, in fact I gave up some years back.
That simply isn’t true. We’ve made numerous semifinals and finals under ENIC. We haven’t executed.
Are you blaming ‘Arry’s failure to get past Portsmouth on Danny Boy Levy?

i am going to add up all the transfers in and out back to pochs start, wages, installments, wont be a billion.
oh and please dont count womens football expenses in our spending sheets, i bet they have, all i am talking about are players in.
Here you go, John.

This 5 year table covers Pochs tenure up to the season he was fired

And yet he had his under invested, over achieving squad punching above it's weight and qualifying for the Champions League season after season!

Sandwiched between Burnley and Cardiff

And coinciding with this

Tottenham set world-record annual profit of £113m

And this

Daniel Levy tops highest paid Prem execs list with staggering £7m last season

Disgusting the resources we gave one of our best ever managers. He built a team & identity and needed some finishing touches and the club just never played ball with him until it was too late. Then he got sacked at the first sign of bad form, Levy tried to paper over cracks with Jose .. it inevitably failed.

Since then we've seen some investment (although still by far the lowest wage bill in the top 6) but meh.

If we're just one of those other 95% of clubs, can the club stick the ticket prices down to reflect theirs, i.e teams with very little ambition content to just be part of the action? Right now they're reflective of a team wanting to compete at the highest level & win trophies.

If that isn't important I don't think Spurs fans should be paying top tier prices at all. That's not good value for a club happy to coast.

If you were on here at the time, they were telling us poch was the problem. You’ll see now he has been sacked. They couldn’t have been more wrong as the following average at best seasons proved. In fact top 4 & CL final still hasn’t been beaten yet.
Do you remember when they tried to justify our cop out transfer window by saying there was nobody available who could improve our first XI :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

That was funny 🤣

I don't believe I blamed or even mentioned levy/enic, so why you decided to mention it is a mystery to me.
All I stated was that we don't win anything which is a factual statement, and that I have given up on the club achieving anything, which again is a factual statement.

What percentage of clubs are CL regulars and get to multiple domestic finals and a CL final in a decade?

Wow .. so we charge the same or more than clubs who do all that but actually rack up trophies? Just because we happen to be involved sometimes and even make the odd final? Which we inevitably seem to lose comfortably?

Seems a pretty raw deal to me.

I do. How deluded. I wonder if they are still sticking with that. All the personal abuse they dished out to people who dared asked for 1 signing. You would think we had said something really offensive!
That proved to me they will change how they really think to match levy/enic. It’s a squad/rotation game & a long season to ‘who do you drop?’.
People saying they will lose it if levy signs no one. Then defend it when he didn’t.
Followed ny Jose the toxic dinosaur to ‘serial winner’.
Now It’s the old can’t compete with the big spenders after arguing spending big is a waste of time.
I’d get dizzy with all the 180s & u-turns.

They have no real thought or opinion of their own, instead just lining it up with levys.
Our main issue this season is we are still trying to fix & recover from the problems poch caused :contehandshead:

So? Without city and Chelsea there woul be more opportunities for others including spurs.

Yet it's only the others who have managed to (repeatedly) take those opportunities anyway. We can't blame the oil clubs for everything.

Entirely possible we'd just have screwed it up against whatever non oil club made it to the final anyway. Especially as lots of other clubs (Liverpool, United etc) would be stronger without City, Chelsea anyway as they're more likely to have hoovered up the top talent.
