@spurs_official (probably): Welcome Zidane!

I mean, there's at least 1 more life in DL's patented pay-high-price-winner(tm)-to-drain-the-last-drop-of-success-from-low-rent-players-of-an-era-with-no-actual-success. It didn't work with Mou and, according to this report, appears not to have worked with Conte. DL's probably thinking it would have if he hadn't backslid to Nuno inbetween so he is fixing that by moving directly to another winner(tm). Third times a charm.

Is your world entirely binary?
Rhetorical.

No, I just don't really care who a potential owner supports. Joe Lewis probably doesn't even care about football at all, at least Ratcliffe has some interest in the sport. I'd rather that than some soulless wanker who made his money by shorting the pound.

Lewis cares more about every single one of his art pieces than he does about this sport. And even then he just hoards said art for himself because it's just another way to make money, not something to be admired for its skill or beauty.

As long as Levy is turning a profit for ENIC and can appease the fans by appearing to have "done what he could", does any really think he'd be overly bothered? I don't.

The guy was absolutely salivating to put a friggin cheese room in a stadium for christsakes.

Why invest in top class players when the much cheaper option is to appoint high value managers to cover up a gaping wound with a plaster?

Its genius really. No long term planning required and again, far cheaper way of appearing ambitious without having to invest in top class players. What can you do, clearly we want to win trophies as we appointed winner #56?

Joe Lewis probably doesn't even care about football
Perhaps you can ask him next time you get invited onto his yacht?

Tottenham has pretty much been owned by Tottenham fans going back a century. Yeah, Levy is a Spurs fan as was Sugar as was Scholar as was Richardson….. you see where I’m going with this, right? If it’s sold to a neutral with no rooting interest then fair enough but I’d like my new owner to cheer for Spurs if we play United in an FA Cup final.

When was the last time he came to a football game? I imagine if I owned a football club & had billions of pounds I'd sometimes attend matches. He's the real owner and he's not a Spurs fan. I doubt he's even a football fan from what Redknapp said. We're just another investment to him.

I don't really care who the manager supports so not sure why I'd care much who the owners support, 90% just care about the money and the others are all about their ego/the project, not whoever they support.

I’m going to try to make it easy for you in terms that you can understand.
Even though Stan Kroenke is the majority owner of the club, there’s another owner, Josh Kroenke, that runs the club for him. Josh Kroenke supports the team he runs.
Spurs is run the same way.
Please find the ignore button.

Why are you so upset? Did I insult your Lord and Master? Why do you feel the need to defend these people?

That still doesn't make Levy the owner of Spurs though, does it? Just like Josh Kroenke isn't the owner of Woolwich. And it doesn't change the fact that the actual owner of Spurs doesn't care about football. So you can put in terms as simple as you like, it doesn't change the fact that what I typed was absolutely, entirely correct and you have been, once more, eviscerated.

Also Levy's 'support' of Spurs is bogus and he's just another man caring about the bottom line, any genuine affection he had for this club dried up long ago - he doesn't care.

Chelsea putting a structure in place, spending the money, buying youth. Newcastle have sovereign wealth and gulf states looking at investing in Woolwich, Victimpool and Yanited.

I hope ENIC are watching and understand the need to keep up as the window is shrinking and Kane/Son/Lloris are approaching the downturn in the next few years and will need replacing. We are not ambitious in the true - let’s go for the title sense. Will be an interesting January.
Conte is the perfect manager to find out because he still has the absolute hunger to win. If it doesn’t work with Conte, we know they’ve settled for where we are and hoping for miracles on a lower budget.

Has our holiday party happened? Just trying to gauge what kind of xfer budget we're gonna have in Jan...can only assume the issue for Conte is he'd like to keep it at a fiver but DL wants a bit more.

From the FT re: NFL rights. Maybe the US investors spy this for the PL:

Google agrees NFL streaming deal as Big Tech chases sports rights

Google’s YouTube has secured rights to broadcast some US National Football League matches from next season, in a landmark deal that signals how Big Tech is reshaping the market for live sports rights.

The package, which will run seven years beginning in 2023, will give the video site the exclusive rights to the “Sunday Ticket” subscription service beginning next season. The service allows US fans to watch any game shown on the biggest game day of the week.

The deal, worth more than $14bn according to a person familiar with the matter, is an additional service on top of the NFL’s current 11-year, $110bn broadcast agreement agreed last year, the most expensive live sports rights in the world.
