It really scares me that the hobgoblin believes he has done everything right for 22 years and with just 1 mickey mouse cup to show for it, is all purely down to fate and doesn't reflect his or enic's ownership. Being completely oblivious to reality like that is a classic sign of a narcissist.
I think he's been on this forum and has seen the comments of Le Parisien regarding the club being in a better position in the table and financially (for now) and having a new stadium... I mean events arena.
There seems to be no comprehension of after 22 years with that being achieved, it really is time to move on and win shit to stop us being the joke club of the PL to the entire world bar a few blinkered wallies on here.
You calling other posters blinkered - without ever realising that you are totally blinkered - you think that this club is run for your benefit - and it isn't.

This is a business and its responsibility is to give a return on investment to its shareholders.
The greatest shareholder is run by a man who has spent his life making money, and has no intention of turning THFC into a sacrificial financial lamb to the ego and vanities of its supporters.

I think that attitude is shit, and the club should be run by people who have one sole purpose, to run the club with the intention of making it the most successful football club in Europe.

Joe has more money than me, and he has the keys to the safe - so we dance to his tune.

Oh - and Joe thinks Dan has done a good job, so he isn't going to sack him or replace him. From a business perspective Dan has achieved everything his master wants.

Gonna watch it it as delivery and context is usually key. Nothing he’s said there is too bad. It will be weaponised by those with loud opinions either way of course. But nothing for anyone to really get their knickers in a twist.

One amusing thing on the non sale though. It’s outed all those supposed itk merchants as complete bullshit artists as usual.
It’s just not very inspiring though, is it? It’s just a load of waffle for the most part, and I would bet the questions were all very much pre prepared before he did the interview.

There’s no semblance of accountability from him. Trots out his usual line of “spending doesn’t guarantee success” as if it hasn’t been him spending the majority of that money. No acknowledgment of any of the woeful errors he’s made over the last few years or any sign that he is going to change his ways. There’s a real sense of “what more can we do.”

So yeah, he doesn’t say anything too bad, but there’s nothing there to suggest any change is coming.

Also, the part about the interested parties in the club. If you genuinely believe he’s being truthful here and there haven’t been any negotiations with anyone recently, even tentative talks, I think you’re being very naive.

Daniel Levy: 'Harry Kane can win a trophy with Tottenham – but being a legend is also important'

Harry Kane has spent his entire professional career at Tottenham and is the club's all-time top scorer – but is yet to win a single trophy

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has given a rare interview where he has insisted Harry Kane can fulfil his ambition of winning a trophy with the club.
Kane is approaching the final 12 months of his contract at Spurs and there are concerns over his future with no manager in place after another campaign without silverware.
Tottenham's record goalscorer has often made clear his desire to win trophies at his boyhood club, but discussions over a new deal are yet to take place and next season could be Kane's last chance to win with Spurs if he decides to not increase his stay at the Premier League team beyond 2024.
Levy, during a discussion at The Cambridge Union Society, said: "He can absolutely win a trophy at Spurs, but being a legend is also important.
"The fact that he's the top scorer for Tottenham Hotspur, he's making history. I hope one day there is a statue of Harry Kane outside our stadium."
Long-serving chairman Levy is notorious for his reluctance to take part in media activates and has rarely given interviews during his 22 years at the club since ENIC bought the Premier League outfit in 2001.
During a 42-minute session at the Debating Chamber, the Tottenham fan reflected on a number of issues, including the club's trophy drought that has now extended into a 15th consecutive campaign.
"It has been an incredible journey and in the 22 years, Tottenham has progressed enormously. Not as much as a fan we would hope but hopefully the journey is not over and we are still hoping we will get that trophy that we need," Levy said.
"When we first came in to Tottenham, winning was making sure we stayed in the Premier League. Then as time goes on and we get more successful, it was about getting into Europa league and then the Champions League.
"Obviously the ultimate goal is to win the trophies. That is clearly what we are trying to do. It's easier said than done.
"Am I happy that we haven't won more than one trophy in the last 15 years? Absolutely not. But I also think we've had some fantastic times. Being in the Champions League a number of times.
"Despite the fact I feel sick that there's a club (Woolwich) in north London that's a bit higher than us at this moment in time, if I look back in the last five years we've also been higher than them so that's what happens."
Recent months has seen speculation over the long-term ownership of Tottenham with talk of outside investment and prospective buyers of the club preparing bids.
The last two home games has also seen 'Levy out' chants.
But Levy added: "ENIC owns approximately 87 per cent of the club. We have 30,000 shareholders and most of them are fans who own the shares.
"We have a duty to consider any proposal anyone wants to make. All I would say is we are not in negotiations with anybody. Nor have we been in recent months."

If you watch it, he doesn't really come across like that at all actually. It is obvious from it though that success on the pitch is just one factor that he thinks makes a successful football club. Unfortunately that isn't the reality for us fans and not what we want to hear.

He agrees he's more painful to deal with than the hip replacement that Ferguson compared him to.

I'm only 5 minutes in and he's talking about how the interest in spurs was purely an investment opportunity.

Is that brand new news?

John Thomas posts his book clipping every week to remind those who forget.

One thing that I notice when he's talking about the club not being for sale in recent months (16.20), the camera cuts away and what he says next is edited out. So I think I'd be very careful with believing that.

Levy is a reasonably bright accountant that lucked out with investing in the right asset at the right time.

The thing that always comes across about him is how uncharismatic he is. He’s actually rather awkward and shy. So you can see why he hates agents and the Wild West elements of football, as it’s all bullshit and bravado.

Definitely. ENIC was for £5 million when he came managing director and only contained shares to now. Joe Lewis owes him a fuck of a lot. He says they haven't been in negotiations for a sale in recent months but he doesn't say that they wouldn't accept bids in the future if they met the price they want. I suspect this could have been what was edited out.

He’s not going anywhere. They only consider bids as they’re legally obliged to.

He’s very clear about his intentions. He states in the very first couple of minutes that his goal was to build a sports and media portfolio. This is what he has now. The DNA of ENIC is broadening sports (NFL, Karting, Windsurfing) and music and entertainment (Beyoncé etc.). That’s where the focus is.

The football is an incidental, self sustaining activity.

do you believe as he says that the money generated from all of these partnerships with other sports and events and such will go straight into Tottenham Hotspur...the footballing side of the business?

Levy saps the emotion out of football for me, it's like having a Tory who is competent at economics (if that's even possible lmao) but has no idea how the general public feel and is out of touch with reality, it all looks good on paper but reality is different.

It's just an exercise in exhaustion knowing we are dependent on him to make decisions that would provide the club with silverware or success because he is simply so bad at it, business wise? Sure but football? Utterly clueless imo.

It just makes me feel hopeless as a supporter, maybe that's the plan? I don't know.
