Almost the perfect post.

Almost.

Die Hard isn't a Christmas film though.

I put it in for a laugh TBF , but it is

Because I have accepted top level football is lost & sold its soul years ago, and refuse to abandon it (yet) because its too big a part of my life. In that vein I'd rather we were at least entertaining/won stuff whilst being part of the shit-cunt part of football than shit to watch & never win anything but still be a part of it.

Pretty simple. Obviously they distort the market/fuck it up. I'd rather they don't exist - they do and are going nowhere.

De Souza and Stuart support it being a Christmas film, while Willis feels it is not.[22][159][160][161] On the film's 30th anniversary in 2018, 20th Century Fox stated that it was "the greatest Christmas story ever told", releasing a re-edited Die Hard trailer, that portrays it as a traditional Christmas film. According to De Souza, Silver predicted the film would be played at Christmastime for years.[161][162][163]

That’s your solution?

Wow.
Not very good at spotting tongue firmly in cheek comments are we . As I said the other day I would prefer your solution that the appropriate authorities stopped such things and they were kicked out . I also said it was a pipe dream and money trumps morals every time . So by accepting our club being owned by a wealthy state would I feel dirty , yes , do I personally feel squeaky clean being owned by ENIC far from it .

So personally , feeling a bit grubby owned by ENIC with no hope of success , or a bit grubbier owned by a sovereign wealth fund with a chance I would choose the latter.

To follow your moral high ground nobody should holiday in the Middle East , drink or eat in many restaurants in London , stay in goodness knows how many hotels around the world , be a renter of flats or houses of any property with a despotic ownership , play golf at numerous golf courses , or buy certain luxury brands . Should we in fact be supporting any PLC that has a shareholding of a sovereign wealth fund other than maybe Norway , if not should we be informing our pension providers that we don’t want to invest in such companies with such investors.

We are in up to our necks with these people already , as a country we have money laundered their investments. So actually it’s the height of hypocrisy to get all righteous about this over football, as we book a flight for some winter sun, buy goods made in China etc etc etc. The list is ginormous of things we should not be doing on an almost daily basis

It is a load of self righteous claptrap people are using to defend ENIC staying and continuing to fail

Edit : How many people are working for companies that are renting office or retail space from owners with dubious backgrounds , I dread to think.

So defend ENIC if you want with” the we don’t want to be owned by a state sovereign wealth fund “ but go and do it from a deserted island if you don’t want to be hypocritical.

EDIT 2. I just caught up with your previous message making it about sporting integrity rather than despotic ownership and a countries morals , Lol we are run by FIFA and UEFA and frankly the Premier League , sporting integrity another pipe dream as money trumps that as well . If we are waiting for that my kids will be 90 and it won’t have happened . Even amateur sport got corrupted in many cases

Seeing as people wouldn't mind an owner who is utterley morally corrupt and has black marks against their name we should let Joe Lewis start pumping his money into the club seeing as he has a dodgy past or something...that way ENIC stay on, we aren't taken over by a Sheikh and Levy stays on, everyone's a winner.

No Daniel, we need ENIC gone, we have had 23 years and that is long enough.
We have been patient, but that has worn thin, the club needs new direction, and if the ownership is morally corrupt and what owners aren't, then for future success it has to happen.

You're actually correct.
But as one of the top 10 richest clubs in the world, and an unrivalled £400milion+ of FFP allowance at our disposal, it's a fucking travesty and piss take that you are correct.

We'll spend the summer sniffing around the bargain aisles, trying to rape and pillage the relegated clubs, and looking for safe, risk free loan yo buy options rather than flexing our financial muscle and making the decisive, statement signings we need.

The ENIC way . The Losers way.

Always has been. Always will be.

Sadly accurate.

All the talk and PR of doing recruitment differently and bringing in a manager and director of football aligned to it will ultimately be wasted because historically we know that Levy will just give up on it and do it his own way. AKA The wrong way.

Well it wouldn’t be a problem for me , but you and I know he won’t , he would still have to remove Levy who is not up to the job in my opinion .

Whilst we are at it on the righteous indignation front , the Levy Out protest is ridiculed for being something you could throw a fishing net over . Meanwhile the righteous Levy In brigade who are full of outrage at Oil States ruining our beautiful game cannot muster a single protester outside of FIFA , UEFA the FA or the Premier League . Talk about not walking the walk, it should be massive as lots of Premier clubs have the faux outrage the Levy In brigade have on here

That's an incredible reach, even for you.
