He doesn’t work like that though. He is a short term 1-3 season manager who takes an elite squad across the finish line then fucks off. The backing for a manager like that has to be instant if the squad is really short of the quality which it is. You cannot expect a manager who wants to win the title to do it with Lenglet, Dier and Sanchez.

£155m in todays market isn’t even that much, it is probably worth only half what it was 3-5 years ago. We needed with Conte to be temporarily the highest spend around to complete the squad instantly so he could win the title then fuck off. He is a win it now and fuck off manager not a project manager.
I’d be more inclined to believe he doesn’t work like that if he hadn’t said himself that he’d need five windows to get us competing. And then said after three windows we’d need two more.

As for the spend, we were fifth, so pretty much where we’d expect to be. Had the anomalies of Chelsea going batshit, Newcastle finding a golden egg and Forest doing what they did in front of us.

£155m net spend over three windows. He’d said he’d need two more to get us “competing”. We were fourth when he went. Nothing to suggest he wouldn’t have had us up there after those other two windows if he’d given the slightest indication he wanted to stay here and see the job through.

Apart from the fact we were only fourth due to games in hands, the football was horrific and results were bound to catch up with it, and we had some harder fixtures coming up which .. shock horror, led to a slide down the table to our actual position of 8th.

Which I said would happen, and you consistently just told me we were fourth. Even though it was always meaningless. Conte (who isn't a bit dim like you, no offence) could see we were shit, and that we would fall off in the table. So he got in there first but tried to get some kicks in on ENIC first. Good on him.

Probably bullshit but putting out there. I was told by a bloke in finance that if Radcliffe doesn't get United he will throw in behind Levy and ENIC with greedy still in charge with a focus in steady not mad but significantly higher revenue for the football teams.

I can't believe many of them attend games regularly.
Does it matter that some of those who can see past the total hatred of Levy/ENIC live abroad? I don't think it matters, does it?

Most of them live abroad and haven't been paying for match tickets-season tickets on a regular basis. They just have a go at us pontificating and extolling the virtues of Enic and Levy
Next season, as I have renewed my ST, will my opinion on all things Spurs/ENIC carry more weight than yours, as you didn't renew? I don't think so. 🤷‍♂️

What page of this thread are we on now... 1856...?

I'd give it 26 more pages and then just close the thread, wherever we are at in our discussions...

Just to prove a point!

Rome wasn’t built in a day and Spurs were not built in 23 years . Intern Daniel is learning on the job, he has only been at it for about 30 years , give him time ,

If you look at his track record of success at all the other clubs ENIC have owned then you will , OH shit wait that argument fails spectacularly.

Let’s go with, if we just have blind faith in ENIC who have not succeeded at any club they have owned, surely the football gods will take pity on us at some point and throw us a bone like they did West Ham .

If these tossers remain in power, we'll never win a meaningful trophy ever again.

Four years since we were in the CL Final with a midfield pairing of Winks and Sissoko. Feels like a dream or one very sick joke.

We've become worse since then but our owners don't really care.

I mean, everything that needs to be said has been said, so it’s a pretty good idea to stop us going around in circles every week. Not sure how a few posters would cope though!

I think that's a great idea. Close the Levy / ENIC thread down and we can just use all the other threads to discuss the most relevant, influential aspect of our football club.

I've always thought it a bit subverse that the ENIC discussion gets shunted away into a corner like this. Like it's some dirty, taboo subject. It should be discussed across the whole platform where it has relevance.

I'll have a word with my friends at Admin

You knew I was talking about you, didn’t you?

Even you must find the circular arguments boring.

I still find it absolutely staggering that when the two inevitably collided, the vocal, noisy majority of our fanbase turned on Poch and backed Levy!
It was absolutely bizarre!
In some ways, we really have earned our laughing stock status and all the shit the last 4 years has thrown at us..

Actually, no, I don't. I find it interesting how the thread has moved on and its encouraging to see the anti ENIC sentiment growing across the fanbase.

I do find it a bit petty though when posters throw their toys out the pram when Levy / ENIC is brought up in other threads. Even when it's relevant and central to the debate.

Which is why I'm totally on board with your suggestion.

I think it's fucking great idea

The frustration with them not fucking off is what makes it boring for me now. I just don’t see a way out of it for us as it seems they’ve little appetite for going away.

Nobody's saying that and obviously no. I just can't take their point of view seriously. Anyone who can see what's happening with our great club and still back the chairman after numerous poor decisions is either on levys payroll or a troll

I share your frustration. It does feel like we're stuck with them for eternity.

But I think now the genie is out the bottle the resentment will keep snowballing and it may reach a point where Levy decides to cash in :contepray:

And although I wish ill on nobody, Lewis surely won't cling on to the slippery pole of life too much longer

I genuinely believe that fans who hitherto now have always turned on the manager will finally start pointing their finger at the real problem contaminating our club. The one and only constant.

One thing I will say. I shudder to think how bad things would be if the whole fanbase was as subservient as the more extreme regime enthusiasts on here.
