I love our morality yardstick , it Is the same one clearly as the football success one

One poxy trophy in 23 years
Lewis isn’t as bad as Sugar

We are nowhere near a CL team anymore
Remember the nineties how bad we were as a team

Two transfer windows no signings leading to a steady decline in the team
Lewis is better than Pol Pot
It's the 'Whataboutery' that really pisses me off. The Enic in hipsters banging on about ' not as bad as Abramovich, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia etc.'
Accusing everyone whose anti Enic of wanting some dodgy regime who have blood on their hands. I don't want that, there are other owners (Brighton etc)
Enic-Levy have owned spurs for 23 years and I have never seen such a disconnection with the fan base. They simply don't care what we think, we should be grateful etc.
Lewis getting charged doesn't surprise me and I hope he's found guilty.

I think it’s time for Ossie to get his boots back on . We can make a movie merging Mean Machine with Escape to Victory, where ageing goalie Sly Stallone breaks a greedy old club owner out of jail when the inmates of Rikers Island play the prison guards at soccer

The unnamed clearly innocent owner can be played by the ever lovable Tom Hanks to showcase the man’s warmth and it can be seen by all. I am ruling Mrs P out of playing the fallen owners love interest as she made it clear in another thread the very thought of such a role made her feel quite unwell. Looks like a job for Dame Helen Mirren

Can anyone get me a fake US passport and social security number , I want to see if I can somehow get on the jury

Owner might be getting banged up; Dier and Davies at the back; club legend and best player on the way out; a load of soppy cunts getting excited about Lo Celso getting a game; new manager whose best team is probably worse (in terms of players) than the Leicester team that just got relegated.

I don't think I have ever had less enthusiasm at the start of a new season. I don't see how it becomes any clearer to people that the club is going absolutely nowhere under the current ownership.

...as the old showbiz saying goes:"when in doubt, shove Helen Mirren up it!"

...for some ridiculous reason, that kept us laughing all day once on Dr. Who!!

I'm still catching up on this thread but had to pause for a second...

The Premier League allows the owners of Newcastle and Man City but people genuinely thought they might force someone accused of insider trading to sell?!

For example?

Show me a person that can afford to buy our club that won't have skeletons in their closet.

Im not advocating for ENIC to stay, I'm just wondering who you would deem a decent enough human being with integrity that has the wealth to buy a football club.

If you just want the money that's fine, but lets at least be honest about it

What in the hell are you on about? I never mentioned money or attracting a sugar-daddy owner.

But there are people with better character and more integrity than Joe fucking Lewis who is about to go down for insider trading, not to mention his plethora of other sins that have been discussed at length in here. The sooner we fuck shitcunts ENIC off, the better.

Hey, the PL has scruples. They clearly draw the line at financing a foreign invasion of a sovereign nation loosely affiliated with NATO.

So long as that action can be utilized as justification for a fixed auction shifting the club to the Saudi PIF via a shell company

Ok, 'bastion of morality' is overstatement for effect. But the 'heading...' implies that there was a time when there was a previous period where there was a discernible undercurrent of morality...when was that time?

Yeah mate. There will and always has been some element of corruption in any professional sport.

We are reaching new levels now.

I think though it's the massive licensing fees in feeding off the average Joe, that rake in the billions and ultimately lead to sale of players for hundreds of millions.

Add to this, institutions such as FIFA / UEFA Et al, where board survival is a greater aim than improving the game itself.

Allowing betting agencies to sponsor clubs, events, coverage etc.

Where there is this level of money changing hands, be it football club ownership, sponsors, player payments, etc, then the predators will feast. The ones that pay are the fans.
