You didn’t write it would be better to sell him now rather then miss out on a fee next season, that would be a reasonable view. instead you described the prospect of him leaving for free next season as being a catastrophe. As a grown adult yourself I expect you know what catastrophe means. What are your motives?
If Kane stayed he would most likely have scored 25 goals, god knows how many assists and pre-assists. We are not going to spend his transfer fee in a way that will replace those crucial game winning contributions.
If Kane stayed we would be more likely to achieve top 5 and a cup win.
So keeping Kane & missing out on a transfer fee next season would not be a catastrophe. You used catastrophe to try to persuade others that Levy’s instinct to protect ENICs balance sheet is all important.

As much as I'd prefer to be an optimist, that is the underlying reality. On the business side, fine, argue Levy has done a good job. On the football side, he is a mixed bag, but ultimately a failure. He is a stone in the shoe of the metaphorical Ange 'run'. Ange's positivity, no nonsense attitude and common sense approach will clash with Levy's 'business logic'. What is right for business and what is right for the manager/team/fans will never align with Levy. What we all know is that these two things CAN align. Alas, removing Levy is impossible, so we'll just have to make do with great attacking football and fingers crossed we get a managerial genius who can win in spite of Levy.
I mean I don't know about you but money is kinda the most important factor when you're trying to rebuild your team.
You need to think long term as opposed to short term, it's all well and good saying Kane could have stayed for a year (and I'll be honest I agreed with that on the premise that the guy might sign a new deal) but since it became clear he wasn't signing a new deal then it's common sense to try and get a fee out of him. Not to mention the prospect of signing for anyone, you gonna be happy if Kane walks into Utd for free? Even if he went to Bayern this time next year, essentially we would have forgone £100m purely for some sentiment.

You're not going to replace him of course so the money could well be used on strengthening other parts of the team, that's generally how you rebuild.
Getting £0 for a player of Kane's standing, best CF in the world, a player who came through our academy, a player who is essentially priceless to us in many ways would have just been utterley ridiculous, shit business and handicapped the club when it comes to strengthening the team aka a catastrophe.

Sheringham was never “Spurs”. Had the “pleasure” of meeting him a few times. Nice enough fella, but not shy in regards admitting he said what he had to say for an easy life and was really a West Ham fan. So when he fucked off it didn’t mean much to him. That’s the facts.
