Call me naive, but I STILL don't get why someone who wants to create a global, entertainment and sporting empire WOULDN'T want a successful, winning team at the heart of that?

Investing in Hotels, Go Karts Rick concerts is only gonna get you SO far without a winning team at the core of it... so why would you deliberately set out a model that involved a team that under achieve and don't win ANYTHING!
It simply doesn't make sense?

...and when you think about the amount Levy/ENIC have spent on ALL those managers, buying lesser players on their recommendations, them having to pay them off each time they're fired... wouldn't that ALL have amounted to a couple of World class, Marquee signings, and a top TOP Manager to coach them?

Levy and Lewis are many things, but they're not idiots!

They only have to take one look at the world's biggest football 'brands' and see the success that each has had to EARN that global status....

Real Madrid
Barca
Bayern
Liverpool
Man Utd
Juventus
AC Milan....

Surely success and even GREATER financial rewards go hand in hand??

I did some research, just to check I wasn't making a ridiculous point!

We're 16th, in case you can't be bothered trawling through the others!
They do want a successful team. I hate the pair of scumbags but clearly that’s one of the objectives, just not one of the top 5. They aren’t prepared to fund it, nor are they prepared to sell a small stake of their own 5BN investment to fund it so we are in groundhog season. Year after year

A beige mid to upper mid table meme club, that extorts the fans

The Spurs / ENIC marketing team are an elite bunch that’s for sure.

They really have managed to tap into the the whole Glory Glory 1961 thing alongside peoples current FOMO lives.

Giving up a season ticket at Spurs must be one of the hardest things to do in the world.

Just one more season…… 10 months later….. just one more season……….

This is a great post. 👏......And correct me if I'm wrong, but you've been pretty much neutral on the subject up until fairly recently?

It's so damned obvious by now that anyone refusing to acknowledge it is doing so purely out of obstinance or some inward fear of admitting they've been so wrong, for so long on something they've dedicated so much time to defending.

I suppose it's understandable to a point. It takes a bit of courage to hold your hands up even if it is just an online forum.
I just try to look at the set up unemotionally. It's just a case of business over football.

Best start protesting then mate

They do very vocally on a spurs football forum that undoubtedly has influence on the fanbase.

In the same way you spend alot of time ardently promoting the overarching management of the club.

If people should go protesting, you should probably do the same and attend the stadium to get your views across to the protesters and protest against the protest.

What even is this post? lol

Yeah I don't know about you but a couple of nobheads on a forum who are in severe need of touching grass who throw their toys out the pram when we lose matches isn't me idea of a protest mate and it certainly doesn't influence the fanbase. :harrylol:

ENIC's only interest is the Balance Sheet. Winning trophies has never been a requirement.

I believe that this attitude percolates through to the manager and the players, I can find no other common denominator that runs through the club that destroys good managers and good teams, where we always fail when it matters.

Nothing will lift this malaise until ENIC leave, and yes I am mindful of what I wish for.
I don’t necessarily disagree with you but what about the 20 years before ENIC where we won 2 cups. We were already a nearly club, a cup team. A chap on a club podcast described it as football purgatory where we are better than the rest but not good enough for the best. Now that’s definitely been emphasised by enic and their approach, but not sure if that’s always been the case in the past, however it didn’t stop us being pretty average with a couple of star players. I look at waddle leaving when lineker was arriving - why not pay waddle whatever he wanted to stay on for another year. No we took the 5mill. So there had always been a reluctance to take risk, to push on to be the best - that’s not just Enic. Lots of bad decisions over the years- why?
is it fan pressure, frugality, aversion to risk, history that players and managers know the clubs ceiling?

But you've totally ignored the point he was making.
You spend far more time on an online forum supporting them, defending them, and apologising for them at every turn, than any single poster does criticising them.....So if it's that important to you, you should turn up at the stadium to get your point across.

You must admit the way you behave on here is abnormal. Nobody else dedicates such a big part of their life drooling over a couple of billionaire businessmen who don't even know you exist.

Go to the stadium and wave your placards there, mate

Many fans ignore media in favour of getting club-centric insights on forums.

If someone's opinion doesn't influence others on here then they may as well shut down the forum because its pointless discussion.

As much as many of us would like him gone, the cunt ain't going anywhere. Just hope he finds a miracle coach, that's all we have to cling on to.

I hear you but I'm not sure anyone's gonna take John Thomas' and Doom Funk's constant nicker wetting on here as gospel, like no-one reading their posts and starting a revolution against the board especially since they go radio silence like lemmings when things are going well.

If you're being influenced by these sort of clowns in the fanbase then you need your head checked 😆

No, I just happen to share an evidence backed view that the priority is not to challenge for honours but rather to grow the value of an asset, which happens to be a beloved football club that many fans dedicate much of their income and time towards regardless of how well they do due to their connection and love for the club.

The arguments that John Thomas and Doom Funk make in that respect are quite realistic and the more transparency among the fans the better.

Nah they ain't, they're just apart of a load of insincere posters on here who don't keep the same energy when we win matches or things are generally going well, that's nothing to do with forming a protest and everything to do with selective outrage/attention seeking/self entitlement/straight up keyboard gangsterism, hence why there's so much traffic in here when we lose but when we win...

Ironic you talking about priorities because at this point I think 'fans' like these I don't believe their priority is to love the club, their priority is to hate the board no matter what and Pidgeon hole anyone as an enemy who have the audacity to go against their opinion.

Fake outrage just to score brownie points with your little gang of online sheep in order to push an agenda is pathetic.

If every poster on this forum was a plate of food , you would be watery cabbage

I'm not in a gang, I don't attack people but have been attacked for suggesting that other clubs have backed their managers to a better extent.

Just like you're attacking me now, is it really pathetic to grow tired of a rinse and repeat strategy that misleads fans?

I'd argue that in many respects the most passionate fans are the ones that care enough to go against the narrative to attempt to drive change for sporting good that will ultimately make the rest of the fan base happy.

If I could trade the stadium for a Premier league title, Europa league/champions league win, or FA cup win experience I would.

Others may feel differently which is fair enough, I just fundamentally disagree with the joys of club value unless it benefits us in a tangible way on the pitch.

I never said you were apart of a gang and I'm attacking you, what?

Fella you're the one who started this exchange, all I'm doing is replying to you, where are you getting this idea I'm attacking you? Bit precious aren't we?

I agree with you but the makeup of this thread from those dissenting voices against the board don't really care, they've shown that on many occasions in here, they clearly have an agenda and there are clear differences to those who actually care about the club compared to those who are in this to troll.

I must have misinterpreted the final paragraph, "with your little gang of online sheep"
