The sad truth is that, in any industry, marketing is insanely important.
Less so in football, where there's an actual scoreboard and a results table (but still somewhat important as it all plays a role in recruitment, even if very minor).
But in practically every other industry, massively important as perceived value is what people actually buy.

It’s not new news though is it, we’ve been moaning about it for decades. The only reason they are on the side of wanting more ffp regulation is because it forbids high levels of owner funding, something they’ve never wanted to do.
