It smells to me like the Qataris feel that allowing Levy to stay is the only way they're going to be let in the door.Feels like this article has been leaked out to gauge reaction to such a thing happening. Worth mention that this journalist isn’t a club friendly journo now I’ve seen who it is. Matt Hughes used to write for the Times and Mail and he never wrote anything positive about us. I’d be interested to see how many articles he’s written on Staverley in the past especially when at the Mail.

That could shake out any number of ways. But the reality is any active ambitious owner would have long since sacked Levy by now. Probably most passive owners too. But Levy and Lewis' relationship is unique and it's always easy to forget that Levy is far more than just ENIC's employee.
To be honest the whole thing smells like bullshit. It smells to me like the Qataris feel that allowing Levy to stay is the only way they're going to be let in the door.

That's a great line but what a missed opportunity? That could sheikh out any number of ways. But the reality is any active ambitious owner would have long since sacked Levy by now.
The basic frame of the situation is that ENIC wants to sell a minority stake to cash in, deepen the pockets of the club, and just diversify the investment generally, which is very consistent with what's happening at peer clubs. It's a sensible idea as far as it goes.To be honest the whole thing smells like bullshit.
We've seen this movie before.
He seems to have been the one/one of the journos that broke the news of her leaving Newcastle.Feels like this article has been leaked out to gauge reaction to such a thing happening. Maybe by being so passive, and not insisting that Spurs genuinely compete for everything, we have ended up with the owners we deserve?Surely there's a reasonable middle ground. Nobody is going to say that we're glory hunters, but expecting the odd trophy here or there isn't exactly being unreasonable.
I want to win the 3.30 at Kempton but I’m not a fucking horseI want tomorrow to be better than today. Everyone does.
This is why we need a system which promotes sporting competitiveness without oligarchy.
Retaining Levy would be a controversial move given the antipathy towards the chairman from many Tottenham fans, but the investors are keen to retain his expertise.
Levy has been the most influential figure at Tottenham since 2001, when Enic bought 29.9% of the club from Alan Sugar before gaining full control six years later. Under Levy’s leadership Spurs’s financial position has been transformed, with the 63-year-old masterminding the building of their new stadium and establishing Tottenham as one of the richest clubs in Europe with an annual income of more than £500m.
For all the criticism of Levy, he has approved a £550m net spend on players since the new stadium opened six years ago.
A club might not win , but whatever the size and whatever the competition it should show ambition and try to winThe game is about glory is cool but it’s just a slogan.
Most people on this board will say the Poch years were the best or among the best years they can remember. Was there glory there?
Or were the Ramos years better because we won a league cup?
There is SO much more to supporting a team than winning things and most normal every day fans who aren’t internet weirdos can see that.
100% fucking chunderIt's basically a tribute to Daniel Levy. Look at this:
There is no criticism at all or even any explanation as to why there is antipathy towards Levy in the article.
I find it funny that Matt Hughes, who also writes for The Sun, say that he doesn't even know the identity of the potential buyers from Qatar. This suggests that this is pure fiction. But if people, once again, want to dream about Qatar i guess that's fine.
All those years in the piedmont have left him somewhat out of touch with the common man
Isn't the whole idea of supporting a team or sports person that you want them to win? Win a tackle, win a game, win a tournament?I wanted to win the cup and the league when I played for my school as did everyone in the team . We even did it a couple of times . Great feeling , far far batter than the years when we didn’t win .
Total nonsense to say trophies are not a vital part of sport almost any sport .
People were over the moon when Murray won Wimbledon , when we won 3 golds on the Saturday night at 2022 olympics
Possibly the most disingenuous argument on here
