In the early noughties West Ham away tickets used to go on general sale every season. Me and the only two other spurs supporting kids in my year used to go together. I had a season ticket and could go to every away game except Woolwich away, although my dad could get a ticket even though he had been to the same number of games as me. Chelsea away used to be like 30-50 loyalty points (basically a season ticket holder).

You could probably get a ticket for most home games on general sale.
Away tickets used to be gettable - then they came up with the worst idea ever to limit the cost of them to £30 - they are like rocking horse shit now

The stadium reflects the idea it was built with a big emphasis on the NFL and concerts. Maybe that's a good business decision but it creates something lacking connection to football. Here in America it is interesting that the new baseball stadiums are often smaller than the ones built prior. The idea is you get the fans closer and more into the game.

I've been going to Spurs since the mid 90's and the atmosphere was never what it was in the last 2 seasons at WHL under Poch. And that was because we had something to play for every week and a level of expectancy to get something from each and every game. Not to mention great football.

What happens on the pitch is what dictates how the atmosphere is at Spurs.
Some clubs have a fanbase that are loud and proud all the time, but that has never been Spurs in my experience.

Similarly to when Juventus moved from the Delle Alpi to their own special built stadium. They made the move from a 69 thousand seater to a 41 thousand seater. But in their current stadium they are closer to the ground, have a better atmosphere and actually own it themselves.

It's pointless asking Redknapp anything about Spurs, we could be where Liverpool are and he'd slate us.

And then alongside him you've got Neville who is now fully on the inside at Utd these days as they go to even bigger levels of fuck ups - he should maybe concentrate on them.
Gary Neville has been allowed to turn Sky Sports into the unofficial Manchester United channel.

I remember Spurs winning 2-6 away at Everton, back end of 2018 under Poch. United had sacked Jose a few days before this.

Gary Neville used the Sky Sports platform to openly poach Pochettino live on air.

It was disgusting.

This was before the new ground at N17 had been built.

The entitlement and belief that Pochettino should just walk away from Spurs into Old Trafford would have been fair enough if done on his own platform.

The Gary Neville Podcast, after every United defeat, draw or poor performance is routine now.

United should just pay Neville whatever he wants to not speak on Sky if they ever want a manager to succeed at Old Trafford in the future.

You're also forgetting the televised game of golf with Kane where he tried to hand in a transfer request

Probably also because TV money is bigger than match day revenue. Why build a 70k seat stadium for $1bn when you can build a 45k seat stadium for less than half, fill it to the brim every week no matter who is playing and still make the bulk of the money from Televised games.

Can anyone who has watched please summarise what's been claimed?

:ange-pray:
haven't watched but this quote is on another site , all sounds very vague.

Keys said: “Oh – you’ll be interested to hear that I was in the company of someone this weekend that reckons a deal to buy Spurs is done. I don’t think it is, but I’m pretty sure conversations have been taking place.

“If so, I’d say this to Daniel Levy. Don’t play hard ball Daniel – you might regret it. I’m also hearing the owners of one of the top four clubs could be ready to sell. They’re arguably a better proposition for a buyer and would tempt a bid before Spurs.”

Been here before, haven't we.

I genuinely think we're unsellable due to ENIC/Levy's valuation.
Literally every other club in the country would be better VFM for anyone who wants to succeed on the pitch.
Even a lower league club because what the save on the £4,000,000,000 price they could spend on a squad and a stadium.

Agree and I don't think Levy wants to sell his share even if the Lewis family trust do. And that bit about a top four club assume Keys means Forest as the valuations on Woolwich , Scousers and City don't offer much value in the short term.

Didn’t we win the carbon footprint World Cup ?

And then fly to Australia to play Newcastle
Awkward No Way GIF

According to the human yeti that is Richard Keys, the deal to buy Spurs is done…

Building a stadium in London is hard though, probably nye on impossible now. There is something to be said for the ready to go nature of us to the right investor like Qatar.
