Building a stadium in London is hard though, probably nye on impossible now. There is something to be said for the ready to go nature of us to the right investor like Qatar.

If our FFP allowance far exceeds other clubs I'd like to think an ambitious consortium would see that as a key pull factor.

Buy Spurs and spend to hearts content to make history and become another man city

I've been going to Spurs since the mid 90's and the atmosphere was never what it was in the last 2 seasons at WHL under Poch. And that was because we had something to play for every week and a level of expectancy to get something from each and every game. Not to mention great football.

What happens on the pitch is what dictates how the atmosphere is at Spurs.
Some clubs have a fanbase that are loud and proud all the time, but that has never been Spurs in my experience.

Completely - I went a lot back in the mid 90's - the atmosphere was ok - but there were no expectations - we were a mid-table side at best and most were just happy for a day out.

Again, pre Jol it was pretty wank -

Once we started winning, we started singing.

And you know what fair play to those who stuck through things thick and thin - fair play - but it does grind my years those who go on about legacy fans who put down tourist fans or those who don't sing - you guys were the same back when we were shit and there was nothing worth singing for -

Except you now can't with the new spending rules coming in
Stadium is not part of PSR/FFP, hence Everton have just finished their new stadium.
Anyone can buy a club and build a money making stadium.
They can, with a plan, build a squad too. They don't have to go out and win the PL in season one. With better plans, we would be the best team in the PL having done it within financial rules. It's not the rules that have held us back, it's Greedy and co.

Depends where in London and why would that buyer need to buy a London club? The current top 4 only has one London club.
Crystal Palace is surrounded by open green areas.
Same for Fulham if they crossed the river
All they really to do is swap land. Build on a green area and when done, level the old stadium and replace that with the green space lost to the new stadium.

I chose to go and get pissed in the pubs and clubs all weekend from the late 90's to well into the Jol era tbh.
Heck, I was battered in a pub for the last cup we won. Like, really twatted :roflmao:

Not sure it's worth paying any attention to Mr Keys , an old headline.

Tottenham new stadium: Spurs deny Richard Keys’ claim that new ground to be named ‘The Nike Stadium’

FML, if we did that, tickets would start at £200
I can never wrap my head around why Nike clothing is so expensive.
Case in point

Both nylon zup up hoodies from 2 of the largest sportswear brands on earth.
But a huge price difference.

Personally I hope to hell we don’t get bought by Qatar
Not many companies and or people could afford, that type of investment needed to buy a football club.
In any case, we have probably missed the boat on big spending owners similar to newcastle has found.
But even if, the investment allows for 2/3 bigger buys than purchasing teenager's then, it could get us a bit further forward.
Obviously would need another manager in place to take it forward.

The manager situation is interesting and is the one single thing that gives me the tiniest glimmer of hope that something is in the offing.
I mean, it's pretty clear we have the worst manager we've had in decades, or at least one that's presiding over the worst run of form...But Levy steadfastly sticks by him.
Just maybe he's aware that any new owners will want to Install their own man, which is why he's holding back from swinging the axe?

I had spoken earlier about the lower wages at Spurs would be used to get Spurs a better valuation for investment. @pokeefe1 had said something similar. My contact in Gulf who is very close to the royal family has told me following:

* PSG owners the “in” family in Qatari power structure and politics are in talks to buy Spurs
* Bein the media conglomerate will be used to buy Spurs and will also be the main sponsor
* What attracts the Qataris is Stadium and the fact that world class talent would want to come to London
* Qataris are insisting on having a tube station next to the stadium as condition of purchase. In exchange they’re willing to commit to area regeneration
* Qataris looking at this as a serious investment in the entire area. They don’t want to be known as vanity buyers buying a club and paying to win. They want a “win hearts and minds” approach the way Emiratis their regional rivals have done in Manchester
* Qataris also feel it’s time to make a statement in the biggest league in the world. There’s general understanding at the topmost level that if you’re not in the English Premier League you’re not really a serious player and having two regional rivals there already is slightly upsetting
* On Levy: “He wasn’t born yesterday. He’s driving a hard bargain”
* The Qatari interest from the same family as PSG owners is the most serious interest in Tottenham since ENIC took over. Here’s hoping it goes over the line.

Passing it on as I heard it. As they say in that part of the world - “And Allah knows best” 🤷🏽‍♀️😬
