Let’s not forget how much a British government bends over to Gulf states, though. Like the Torys waving through the Newcastle Saudi deal because of the arms contracts in play.
Absolutely. Money talks in pretty much every walk of life.

Imagine if this has legs, Levy fucks it up, and they turn their attention to someone like West Ham.

I wonder if their fans would be crying because their new prospective owners wear a keffiyah

The only good thing for us here is, West Ham have little to offer infrastructure wise.
Don't own the stadium or any if the corporate/catering set up.
We generate double their income, in the right hands Tottenham could be a serious player.
Far removed from the laughing stock they are now.

A good friend of mine who does shed loads of work for TFL at a high level, told me when the ground was being built that Levy wanted the Vic line to run to Northumberland park.
The track is already their as the tube train depot is there, TFL said he could have it if he paid for it. Discussions ended.

Make of that what you will.

Well, err . . a tube station probably.

This is where the bullshit falls apart I’m afraid. Everyone knows TfL have refused this for decades. It’s not happening. Mind you, they hit the spur on the northern line at Battersea power station but there was a lot more space there for this to happen.

Qataris are insisting on having a tube station next to the stadium as condition of purchase. In exchange they’re willing to commit to area regeneration

Edit: Boris tried to get the same Qataris to buy us and regenerate the area when he was mayor. Enic weren’t interested and the Qataris doubted the returns. Might be different now of course.

If it’s the Qataris they will make it happen. Money isn’t going to be an issue.

As good a place as any I suppose

Th Victoria Line spur would only cost 20m or so; it exists already at Nrothumberland Park station but isn't used obv

That's about as close as you could get a tube station to the ground for match days. Next to the ground? That would only be useful for getting bods to the stadium tour or the go kart trk
I seem to recall that a station next to the ground was part of the original Northumberland Development Project. Did this get shelved, or did I dream it?
