Personally, & of course it’s just guess work . I think they were actively looking during the transfer window & there wasn’t the interest they hoped for as other managers were concentrated on their own clubs . They knew an other Mason type internal hiring would have gone down like a lead balloon , time passed & it was accepted that Ange was staying .

I I were levy , Jesus what a thought , I’d be expecting us to probably scrape past Bodo , the league disaster to continue & I’d be talking to managers , who as the season is coming to a close , know where they are & try to tempt them with the prospect of their first game being a potential Cup winning one.
