ENIC In or ENIC Out

I mean they weren't were they...they were aimed at ENIC, we saw the banners and we've seen the sentiment over the years that that ENIC are the problem, as I said before you swiftly changed your mind over the past few days rather strangley that you yourself acknowledged that they are the main problem yet now you want to 'wait and see' what they cook up in January lol what.

Yet Levy has left (well done protestors yay) yet the root cause are still around and yet folk are silent...all that Change for Tottenham and all that apparently accomplished something by getting the face of the company out which will be absolute music to ENIC'S ears because once again the pressure is firmly off them and they can do what they usually do and fade into the background whilst someone else takes the blame, brilliant.

I think you've just summed up exactly what will happen

If ENIC had of swallowed their pride and brought Poch back in 2023 we’d be a good side by now. Even if we made the same signings we made. The guy has got a system that scales perfectly to where we want to be as a club. Nuno, Frank and Ange don’t.
Yeah Poch would lead RicharliKane, JohnSON, Bentembele, and Ododele to glory. Can’t even find a match for Eriksen because there’s no CAM in sight.

You're on the wrong season. 95/96 is when we replaced Klinsmann and Popescu with Armstrong/Sinton/Fox
I don't know what you're on about tbh.
I started supporting Spurs in 94/95 because we signed Klinsmann, Popescu etc. That was the season we had a 12 point deduction and kicked out of the FA Cup only to over turn that and get to the semi.
You're the one who has moved on to 95/96...

No chance. He’d have been sacked long before then. We knobbed off the domestic cups under Poch regularly chasing top 4. Certainly didn’t take them as seriously.

Ange ultimately only had Europa to play for to ensure he always wins year 2.
Wasn't just Poch.

The season Redknapp got us in the CL, we weren't in Europe at all. The season after we finished 5th so in the next season, in order to get back into the top 4, we were out of the Europa League in the group stage.

AVB got through the group stage in his first season with 2 win from 6. It was only after the group we started playing stronger teams IIRC.

I'll never forget Dortmund under Poch. He'd gone weak in every single game and did exactly the same to them. Robbie knobhead Savage spent 90 minutes saying he couldn't believe the team we picked.
Despite it being the same all the way through.

Look what you replied to???

But what about the other 34%?

Depressing seeing Woolwich announce a double of Platt and Bergkamp, meanwhile we have to see Alan Sugar spunk a similar amount on Chris Armstrong, Andy Sinton, and Ruel Fox to replace Popescu and Klinsmann (both of which the business genius had his pants pulled down over).

Alternative highlights were waiting for the arthritis to kick in so we could finally sign a once-was-decent player for 2x their value.

In those days the Europa was irrelevant. Things changed when it became a gateway to the champ lge. It’s definitely the easiest way for most premier clubs to get in the champ lge. It’s Villas for the taking.
Or even Dyche could get it. Become easier since the 2 extra champ lge places.

True.
But it was a massive drain on resources until they blocked CL drop downs too.

trouble for us & ENIC is our squad has too many second 11 players ( that Levy & Co got in) so Enic needs to buy 3 or 4 First team players, but that then means all these brought in second 11 guys either get sold at a loss or sit on the bench blocking chances for our own club trained players from coming though

This is a mixed response.
On one hand you rightly say a lot of our current 1st team are more likely 2nd choice players that we need to upgrade on.
You then say they're blocking chances for club trained players. Of which probably 1 in a thousand are actually worth using.
It's like fans accept abject mediocrity as long as it comes from a the academy. Possibly even more than a little bit more success without them.

The concept is four-fold.

Using academy players for squad fillers/depth frees up funding for decent incomings.
Having players in the squad who have a career to fight for and want to play for the club creates a better culture
Giving talent opportunities is far more enticing to the 1 in a thousand you want to join or stay in your academy
From these opportunities, you can make more money from moving on players with PL experience than you would just releasing them

You only have to look at how many players City, Chelsea, and Woolwich leak out who they end up buying back for mega money to know it is flawed to not use them

That's great in theory, but the reality is, our fans over rate some absolute dross from our academy.

I agree ref the academy , we have only produced 5 top top class players in my 57 years of fandom . I am not saying we haven’t produced a few solid , loyal players who have become firm fan favourites on top of that . But we have produced very little high quality from our academy.

For every Hoddle there are a hundred or more total flops and countless Harry Winks type level players .

Woolwich , Liverpool, United , Leeds even West Ham have run rings around us over decades

I don’t count Chelsea and City who are simply buying up the best youngsters

What a shit season. We are average as per usual. Woolwich walking to the title & going to dominate for years. We are stuck with ENIC where 16th would be progression in the league.
I barely bother watching any football now. ENIC suck the life out of it. Very happy we got rid of levy but ENIC are at least equal to blame. As well as modern football being not for me.

The capitulation started when Dembele left followed by Eriksen, Jan, Toby then Kane and lastly Son.
We never once replaced any of them with the same quality, now we are left with the best stadium in the world with a two bob squad.
I feel nothing towards any of these players.
