Regardless of what you think about his footballing abilities the guy doesn't shy away from a situation or a tackle and I respect him for that. Put him up against arseholes like Pogba and Carroll and they will always try to take advantage and you will inevitably have penalty incidents. You then have to rely on the referee and VAR to use some logic and give Dier the benefit of any doubts they may have. Sadly that doesn't happen and they succumb to pressure.

Bottom line, he's not a centre half. Since he moved there its an all too familiar narrative, he's at fault for a goal or he's unlucky, the bad luck having a lot to do with not have the natural instincts of a centre back. Yes, he puts in an honest shift every time and is a decent lad, but this is a tough hard nosed business and we need a serious upgrade for our first choice centre back.

I don't care what condition Skrinar is in over the course of a season especially alongside Sanchez id back him to make less errors and have less "bad luck".

He also isn't a DM. So, dun dun dun, what is he?

If we do get Skriniar in, watch Jose put Dier in the DM spot.

Dire and Winks are the 2 reasons I still don't fully back Mourinho. If he keeps on picking those two every match, we aren't going to do much.
Dire is a maga liability. Absolutely nailed on to fuck up when push comes to shove.
Winks is a hindrance.

On going to get Dier back to the pitch, Mourinho was asked whether he was aware how difficult it is to pee with someone standing over you. Mourinho's response with a big laugh: "The problem was he wasn't peeing!"

How bad are the Chavs that Dier has time to squeeze one out, wait for Jose to come and sniff it, then saunter back out to score the first pen.
:dierno::mourcheeks:

Saved a certain goal when it was two on one there in the second half. His positioning for that one was flawless.

Played well. Took a shite.
