Lost agility, I guess - but even for England 2 weeks back he got destroyed a few times by off-form Eriksen
He's not great in either position. But his best performances have been at defensive mid, albeit a long time ago. It was playing there that he caught the eye of Mourinho at Utd. So now he's lost some of the lumber he was carrying, maybe he could get back to that kind of form.

Was it Napoleon that said he only picked up his generals on the basis of how lucky they were. Dier when he’s not fucking up just seems one of those unlucky people in life who Just attracts calamity. It’s a bit like walking under a ladder. Playing him at centre back is just inviting disaster.

You cannot blame him for that shit surely?

Yeh but he just got away with one before, surely keep ur fucking hands right down as it’s the last minute, Newcastle were appealing non stop.

How the fuck is he supposed to keep his arms down, jumping for a ball with Andy Carroll who's 6ft 5, 16 stone and trying to knock the fuck out of him??

Have you played football at any level? Seriously, it's fucking insane to think he can offer any sort of challenge to a lump like Carroll without using his arms. Why is Carroll allowed to jump with his arms up and the defender can't?

It's bullshit.

That’s my point. This time he’s not at fault and had a good game. But even when he’s not at fault, bad shit just seems to happen him all the time. He just seems one of life’s accident prone, unlucky people. Bottom line, he shouldn’t be centre back.

Last time he played that well was against Man U late last season. That ended with Dier giving away a ropey penalty to a Pogba dive that only Man U really get and a second penalty moments later that was overturned on VAR.

The decision was bullshit. But all I'll say is if that was going to happen to anyone in our team it was Dier. Don't know how, don't know why - but he always somehow manages to get himself into these situations.

Haha, people don't want to accept this.

Doherty gave away a pen to this rule last week. Just MINUTES before the penalty, there was a VAR check against Dier for the EXACT SAME move.

He 1000% lost the header to Carroll and he threw his right arm up. Very very stupid play. This is what he does at CB, mistakes galore.
