I think my earlier suspicion may have some ring of truth to it! All that being said, aren't we supposed to support the clubs from our country when in Europe regardless of the domestic stuff? Whenever I hear commentators and pundits when English clubs like Liverpool are playing in Europe they seem to assume us Brits are all behind them. Surely you can do the same? Or at least feel conflicted...

I'd rather support Nazi Germany in the 1936 Summer Olympics.

I don't mind other Israeli sides doing well in Europe as I don't care, I wouldn't actively support any though. Hell supporting the national team is considered super chavy and most people in my circles have other national teams they actually follow. I have never seen our national team live, I've seen England twice.

strangely football is probably the only front here where there's no raving nationalism from left to right about Israeli accomplishments abroad.
