Despite having some crazy good generations to work with, insane talent levels, brilliant younguns...90% of France's games under his tenure have been awful to watch. Got his ass saved so many times by Hugo, Varane, Pogba, Griezmann, Giroud and Bappe.

Almost feels like those dominant Spain teams between 2008-2012 has given everyone some sort of false belief of how teams need to be at international tournaments.
France under Deschamps have got knocked out at one semifinal, got to three finals, lost one on his home patch, won one and lost the other. And doing so unspectacularly.
England under Southgate got knocked out in a semi final, have reached their second final, lost one on his home patch... The next one awaits..
Almost as if at these tournament, you need a guy in charge who everyone respects, enough luck to get you through it all whilst not nattering how you play aslong as you get the results.

Since they've won the World Cup in 2006, they havent managed to get out of the group stages of any WC since and failed to qualify for the last two...
Yet within that time have won a European Championship, all whilst being rubbish since. I think we'd all have taken that as England fans.
