Is that guy drinking a bottle of Pimms?

What a great line and so true.

Big challenge for Paratici in the next couple weeks, let's see how he does.
No it's not...even the dogs in the street know that the Revolution unified France and enhanced the power of the national state. The Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars tore down the ancient structure of Europe, hastened the advent of nationalism, and inaugurated the era of modern, total warfare....

Not really. Do you know how much wealthier and healthier our bottom line would be if we'd invested property during the Poch era, and won some EPL titles, FA cups, and a CL? And then reinvested that money to having a squad going toe to toe with Chelsea instead of getting destroyed in a semi?
Yes theyve developed the business side!ie property etc. Not the football side ie Investing in squad

Paratici really has this guy buttered up, he hasn't a bad word to say about our prospects or transfer strategy. Bit of an Alasdair Gold vibe, in that you can trust what news he'll have about the club to a point, but it will be the message that the club wants you to hear. I think we're one of the few clubs that Romano actually hears some legit noise from, most of his stuff is just aggregation from other reporters.

Interesting Scamacca mentioned as Juve's top target in the summer... Weren't we linked to him too?

Funny how things change.... Strikers were like rocking horse shit in recent years; yet come the summer there's a bucket load in the balance.

Sack this snake oil salesman.

Why the fuck are we even putting in official bids for players that have no interest in coming here?

Amateur hour

Is odd, we had Pau Torres then Kounde with the Sanchez swap. Agreed with both clubs and then players turned us down, you’d think you would agree with the players agent then agree with the club.

Again; this won't be exclusive to Spurs.....

Perhaps it's as simple as aiming to getting both sides of the deal done and one taking longer to nail down than the other.

People would complain if they thought we weren't trying hard enough to sell the club to a player, so why take the first answer.......? .... Why not exhibit an eagerness by showing the player you mean business and have already agreed a fee?

There's likely no best order to do things...... Let's be frank; if a deal gets done, nobody (least of all the fans) gives a shit how or in what order.

The main problem with Paratici is, he's got a boss called Daniel Levy, who will cockblock him any chance he gets. It's not that DL doesn't want to sign new players, it's that he'll only do it if he feels he's fleeced the other team. Also, DL doesn't care about us challenging for titles...his utmost priority is making money for himself and the owners. If we can do that and get top 4 by overachieving big time with a limited squad, he's the happiest man in the world. That's literally his everyday wet dream

That being said, Fabio has still disappointed so far, considering his pedigree.

Romero has barely played and there was that covid incident only a few weeks after joining.

Gollini is a bust. As is Emerson. Gil may come good eventually, but it'll take a good 2 years...possibly including some loans.

Aren't we over thinking this?

Surely you sound out the players agent beforehand and ask "we are going to put an official bid in on x date, is your player interested in principle to talk to us" that way we don't waste time putting in official bids only to be told the player has no interest whatsoever in joining us.

Then we move onto the next one, less wasted time and the club don't look like amateurs.
Technically you aren't allowed to talk to a player or his representatives until you've had permission from the club, and that permission is usually only given when you've made a sufficient offer. But we all know teams still do it. They think that if they have the player & his agents on side first, they'll be able to pressure the club into selling, maybe even cheaper

Right, lets get this straight. There's ONE person to blame for all this, and it ain't Fabio 'fall guy' Paratici.

If you blame anyone except Levy, I will fart down your throat.
Levy is obviously to blame.
That doesn’t fully excuse Paratici. The fact that we don’t have at least a list of players we want to buy and some fallbacks in case we can’t buy our main priorities it’s on him.

His supposed "line 'em all up then pick off your targets at will" approach seems to be more hassle than it's worth.

Unless we're talking HG or overall squad numbers, I don't see why TN, GLC & Dele should stand in the way of us getting one or two deals done......
I doubt our current status as a club is particularly helpful in pulling off such a tactic either, we're hardly such a dream destination that anyone would hang around waiting for us to make our minds up, if anything it seems it would be more likely to insult a target.

If we have been taking that approach, not only do we appear to have been making a right hash of it, but it also suggests that those running the club have a serious lack of self awareness as to where we actually sit in the food chain.
