And like I said you or the quote you are referencing you've got it wrong. You didn't click on the vid of him speaking, did you? You couldn't have, if you would have you would note that he didn't utter those words.
A very appropriate comment in my opinion. No need to murder the little remaining confidence of our players by getting chatty about January targets. It’s also nearly guaranteed to be a lie, there’s no way our DOF didn’t chat with the new manager about transfers.
The focus should be on what Conte can do with the current group and how he can improve them. No need to take the eye off the ball when we’re still two months away from a transfer window. Would be bad public messaging.
If both journalists got it wrong then fair enough but they were both there and I see no reason that either of them would lie about what was said.

There is every reason to think that the comments they are referencing are not from your selected clip.

They aren't lying! they are reporting on what he said. Both are reporting that: He hasn't spoken to Conte about transfers. They report this because this is what he said.

Of course he would say that. What did you expect him to say? "This squad is shit, Dele is a lazy twat and Winks shall sleep with the fishes"? Pretty well handled interview in my opinion.
The last 24 hours have been packed to the gills with obvious falsehoods from official club channels, necessary to establish the “right” things about this very unusual turn of events, but we all know what the real story is here.
I don't think he's lying. He probably said to Conte keep your mind clear for the moment regarding thinking about new signings and focus on what you feel you can do with the current squad for the next month, then if needed lets talk about any requirements moving forward.
Again there is some middle ground between everything is shit and we are competitive and don’t need players in January.
I would have liked to see something in that vast middle ground that exists.
If you actually follow along you will see that it was a simple point I made that was resolved fairly easily with To Dare is to Do and then people with agendas have come in and misconstrued my points to carry it on.
