Management Fabio Paratici

Wouldn’t be surprised if Levy is the one behind the leaks, blames Paratici, and then sacks Paratici for the leaks.

You cant have Levy running things if you want the BVB method. I agree it’s the way to go but we need an on point DoF, a Rangnick type. Getting some Mendes guy from Italy could be a disaster.

I just said I've wanted to get back to having a DOF..... I've never not wanted one.

Levy is also an advocate of them.

We don’t sell players, I mean look at Sissoko why is he still here? so we cannot reinvest to get new players.

Selling dregs is not what being BVB us all about....

It's about being able to promise a pathway into top tier football for young high calibre prospects (Sancho, Bellingham, Haaland) whilst not being scared to sell them in order to fund the next wave of recruitment .

A lot of our fans call for it but many have proven they haven't got through stomach for it.

All of this is not money, it’s strategy. We go for Cheque book managers like Jose and Conte when we are suited to project managers. None of what we do makes any sense at even a simplistic level.

We are run well in term of infrastructure development but look all over the shop on the football side and have done for years. If Levy is going to keep crying poverty as he did in his recent interview then a Dortmund style of running the club is the only way forward but Levy has not shown he understands that. This is what is so baffling.

1 You hire a progressive DoF
2 you scout and get the best young players
3 you build a team over several seasons and sell when needed to reinvest
4 you make this attacking style for the senior and youth teams

it’s cheap, fans get to see attacking football and good youth players come through and it doesn’t break the bank. The only downside is it takes 3-5 years to mature and be successful.

It's not cheap anymore (even raiding the champo is a 30m punt now..... Meaning the room for error is decreasing). There's only room for so many teams doing this at the very top level.... Especially within the same league. This is where BVB have the jump on a lot of teams; they've been all but guaranteed CL for over a decade (and aren't expected to surpass BM); whereas, in the EPL top four is it's own dog fight.... For all their good work, Leicster are learning this fast.

Perhap cheap isn’t the word but cheaper. Certainly cheaper than Jose or Conte would be over a long period.

I don't think Levy is behind the leaks unless you are blaming him for creating a culture at the club where people are frustrated by the shit they constantly see and are then willing to talk about it to the press because they feel little connection or need to be loyal to their bosses.

Oh totally..... We both know the City, Chav, RM model is not on the menu.

My main point is the BVNmB thing is small niche to exploit and I fear Leicester have that berth occupied in the EPL for the time being having seized our opportunity to be that club.

It's primarily agents after as much filthy lucre as they can get.

The Gattuso stuff was 100% pushed by Mendes to his long time shills Romano & Di Marzio, & then spread like a virus to other hacks.

There have been claims that part of Paratici's attraction to Levy was that he has such, ahem, intimate relations with super agents that he knows release clauses in contracts etc.

Now, that's all very well if you are going to use that inside information to trigger a deal before rival clubs get involved . But the agent may very well decide to leak that info to see if any other club will grease his palm with even more silver.

A case in point is Marcus Thuram. Apparently he has a 30 million release clause, & Paratici was going to trigger it.

But guess who Thuram's agent is? Yes, it's Mino "Mr 40%" Raiola.

And we know that Raiola cares most about gold & treasure.

Levy is also a complicating factor, since he always tries to lowball clubs & refuses to pay the actual fee. This fatally undermines the point of hiring an agent-schmoozer DoF like Paratici.

We needed a Campos type DoF, able to identify exceptional talent at reasonable prices. Not a Paratici used to fine dining with the super agents Raiola & Mendes.

I agree but if Paratici is any good, he will adapt his approach and veer away from impossible deals from Raoila and rattle the bins for Levy in the Albanian u21 league

I'm happy to take at face value Levy's comments that he has known Paratici for a long time and values his tough negotiation skills. It makes some sense to appoint him for his contact book and deal making ability. Hitchen, who didn't seem to excel in these areas, reverts to scouting.

I'm hoping Paratici will bring something similar to Frank Arnesen - the ability to get players in and out in numbers. After all Arnesen arguably started our upward trajectory from mid table 15 odd years ago.

It could still work out with Paratici, even if he's not off to a great start. I'd see it as a good sign that he can be flexible and think beyond Italy if we reverted to a Hitchen recommendation such as Potter or Ten Hag at this point.

I think you're just kidding yourself tbh. Pretty clear this is another Levy clusterfuck.

I don't see how this appears to be a Levy clusterfuck, other than him creating the overall situation we are in.

There is zero reason to think that Levy wanted Fonseca and even less reason to think that it was him, not Paratici, that then wanted to switch from Fonseca to Gattuso.

Maybe it is all a weird coincidence that we have basically no links to Serie A players or managers for years and then all of a sudden when Paratici shows up we have deep conversations with two Serie A managers, but it is supposedly got nothing to do with him. That seems to be way to much of a coincidence for it not to have been driven by Paratici.

Levy deserves blame for us being in this spot right now, he deserves blame for killing the Conte deal that we should have made, but I think the recent events of going for Fonseca then backing out are Paratici's doing.

Yes, Levy hired patricia with clearly no due dilligence being done whatsoever, therefore this mess is all on him, not his cannon fodder DOF hire.
