"On the way back to the hotel my father asked me for my views. “I didn’t think much of that English team,” I told him, but I liked that Spanish side. Can you find out if there’s an English team that plays like Real Madrid?” Unknown to me, I had asked for the near impossible; as if, in Michael Jordan’s airborne heyday, I had asked, “Can you find out if there’s a team that plays like the Chicago Bulls?” My father, almost as much an innocent in these matters as myself, said, “I’ll ask at the front desk.” What he learned from that long-forgotten hotel clerk changed my life, because a few days later we went to watch the other famous club of North London, Tottenham Hotspur, and I lost my heart."Famous Spurs fan Salmsn Rushdie fighting for his life!! Fuck religion
I used to work with a man who was best mates with Motty, he used to get tickets all the time and he usually pass them onto me. On one occasion I was given a ticket to a Spurs game at WHL. Little did I know at the time that the ticket was to sit next to him on the gantry whilst he did his commentary (Brings back goose bumps just typing this). He was an absolute gent of a man, he gave me a programme signed by many on both teams. He had me do some of the sound checks pre-game that meant me giving a pretend 1 minute fake commentary with his mic.Unfortunately Motty is not a Spurs fan. It's a bit of football myth. He has acknowledged several time that people always wrongly label him as a Spurs fan. Shame really.
Well this post certainly educated me on celebrity Spurs fansWe have Norwich and Burnley to play, written with due respect to both teams.
We have a Leicester side who will be readying for their semi-final second leg, having played the Thursday night before.
We are also in.the box seat, albeit just ahead of Woolwich.
Fail to finish 4th from here and beer a serial winner and it's exactly what it will represent.
Failure at this stage. No fluffing the truth.
