It's just the Voorm thing all over again.

Is it more the idea of bringing a player back that people have an issue with?

.....Would it be any more 'offensive' if we'd never let him go in the first place?

I personally would just find it embarrasing how you -

- let contract run down with a player without prolonging it
- see him join another club
- pay the new club some millions to get him back

That demonstrates awful piece of planning and foresight!! But I guess that was Poch middle name, given -
- no replacement for Dembele
- no replacement for Trippier
- no interest to buy a DM after it was clear that Wanyama could not play anymore
- no plan what to do with likes of KWP, Foyth, Skipp, Clarke

Absolutely nothing against Llorente. Top professional and nothing bad to say about him.
Only maybe too sympathetic to see him treated like this by the club...

On the point of selling players and then panicking to bring them back.

Robbie Keane
Jermaine Defoe
And whisper it. Chimbonda

and Vorm this season. Any others under ENIC ?

maybe Defoe worked out, the others did not when they came back.

At the end of the day; we are trying to rescue 4th spot for the season.

Criteria for a striker....

1. Is the player available?
2. Is he experienced and confident enough to hit the ground running?
3. It would be nice if he had EPL experience...
4. Within budget? We don't want someone demanding a 5 year contract on 100k a week
5. Happy to play second fiddle when Kane returns?
6. Is he happy to live in the miserable, cold, wet, dirty, crime ridden hotspot of London?
7. Is his agent not a complete pain the arse to deal with and demanding a 10m bonus for brokering the deal?
8. Suit the style of play? (We don't need another Moura/Son type player, we need someone to hold the ball up , win aerial balls and create space).

Looking forward to the extensive list of players we have to choose from :)

Welcome to the team Christian Benteke.
Is Marcus Gayle still available??

Your post is a jumbled up load of nonsense mate.
Firstly, how many more times does Harry Kane need to break down for you to realise it's not a back up benchwarmer we need, but someone who can seriously challenge Kane for his place. .

Secondly your right, we agree. We don't invest as much as Liverpool. But there are people in the Levy out thread claiming we do. Go and take a look.

You then go on to talk about West Ham spending more than us, as though this somehow justifies the spendthrift ways of our owners.

You are forever painting this picture of little Tottenham. Like we're a little club punching above our weight. Like bringing back Llorente is the best a little club like Tottenham can hope for!!

We are the 10th richest club in Eurooe, mate. With a rich history and a huge fuck off support.

And the fans are starting to see through this charade now

Just because a post is above your obviously limited intellect doesn't make it rubbish - it just proves you're a bit dumb.

Let me make it more simple ...

Liverpool spent £75million on Virgil Van Dijk to be their defensive leader for the next five years - we are looking to buy or loan a short term replacement for an injured player - not buy a player to be our attacking leader for the next five years - can you see the blindingly obvious difference now?

We may be the 10th richest club in Europe which on paper means we should lose in the last sixteen of the CL ... think you'll find that reaching the final is therefore over-performing.

and interesting as that is we play in the EPL where we are 6th richest behind City, Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Woolwich, so finishing above 6th nine times in the last ten years, yup that is again over-performing

How can you not understand that, my eight year old gets it ...

Only entitled cunts who think everything should be free and that you can just spend other people's money to get anything you want would think Spurs were under-performing - and by entitled cunts John I mean you.

We have been a a 'little club' punching above our weight for many years, the 850 million investment in a new stadium has taken us up closer to the rest, in the next five years that should allow us to compete better, but we will still only be the 4/5/6th richest club in the UK ... however entitled you might feel we will still need to over-perform if we want to win trophies.

Sure we have a rich history not as rich as Utd, Liverpool, Woolwich, Chelsea or City but we've won the 6th most trophies in English club history ... what's your point?

disagree there Fella. Tottenham’s history is every bit as rich as all those clubs. But the 90’s & the Sky Top 4 period made us look cheap and we have never shook that off, but history will provide a different story.

I’d accept recent history has us below all those clubs, but that’s the result of chronic mismanagement and poor choices by club owners, not reflective of trophy winning / performance history.

For example Spurs won the Double, and spent big doing so and spent big throughout the Nicolson reign (and the Burkinshaw reign too) We did that double BEFORE any of the others....

Anyway, no quarrel with you, just responding to a small bit of a good post.

People are moaning we have allowed the squad to grow old and not get rid of older players and yet when we get rid of the oldest player they do not like it. Not renewing his contract was correct but not replacing him was the error.
