I think he's pretty much spot on. Especially this bit - “If you want to advance a cause you have to invest some self-sacrifice". Any principled stand of any substance involves some kind of self-sacrifice.
For most of us plebs this just means being vaguely coherent with our opinions, be that down the pub or on platforms like this. For famous people obviously the stakes are higher and the accusations have greater weight.
