He was just a pair of legs we brought in during an injury crisis. He hasn’t shown anything in his time here so time to head back to Benfica. Best of luck to him.

I'm guessing that they've tagged onto the interview Jose did, where he said he wouldn't stop Gedson leaving. The end of the line?
BBC.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho says 21-year-old Portugal midfielder Gedson Fernandes' loan spell from Benfica could end in January. (Sport TV, via Sky Sports)
He's not registered in the PL squad, IIRC ?I think Gedson will get some minutes but not in any important games. He's nowhere near the bench let alone the starting XI. Although if there were some injuries it'd be useful to have the depth .
Clearly we aren't going to buy him permanently unless Benfica MASSIVELY reduce their asking price. Its not worked out for him and I always thought it was a bit of a pointless signing (although I suppose he was just bought to cover Sissoko's injury)
He's counted as U21 in PL so didn't need an official spot in the 25-man squad. He's not registered in the PL squad, IIRC ?
I assume he's also not registered in the EL squad ?
So that only leaves the domestic cups that he can play in.
Did they not see his penalty last year vs Norwich?I still think the whole deal was nothing more than a favour to the agent.Anyone see his shit penalty for Portugal u21s?
How he gets the responsibility I will never know.
Hasn't acted out or made a fuss, hope he can succeed in Portugal.Shame it hasn't worked out for him.
If he does leave in January - good luck in wherever he plays next.

Definitely. The taker of one of the worst penalties I've ever seen in my life.Club legend. Good luck
In the Amazon series, didn't Jose say he didn't want Stevie B and they signed him anyway? You would guess that this loan on 15 Jan and the Bergwijn signing on the 29 Jan were already in the pipeline when Jose signed for Spurs on 20 November 2019.
