Ex-Spurs Player Giovani Lo Celso

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I find it quite amazing that this fraud of a player gets nowhere near the amount of stick Hojbjerg does on here. He literally offers zero defensive or attacking threat yet somehow got away with it for a good couple of years until people actually wised up.

The Eric Dier of our midfield in that he puts in limited effort and would rather hide and not tackle instead of actually helping his team out.
He does nothing when ever he plays but people keep saying he’s a great replacement for Maddison they are delusional .just N’dombele he is a waste of money .

The press are saying that Ange wants him to stay and the player wants to stay and succeed under the new management. I think that taking into account Anges ability to bring the best out of players, the fans should back the player?

Ange wanted/wants him to stay due to circumstances. Initially he wanted Ndombele to be the one to stay but realised he couldn't be trusted. He then accepted/realised that the likelihood of us bringing in a CM when at the time we were struggling to bring in the 2 cbs he wanted (we ended up only getting one) was highly unlikely AND hojbjerg had already made it clear he wanted to leave as well.

Agree but fully annoyed that he got injured again on his first competitive start.

He’s just never been able to stay fit in the physical demands of prem football

I have a feeling he is one of those players who won’t play unless they feel 100%. In reality though that is rarely the case for a footballer. I also think he just doesn’t want to be at the club so his motivation to play through any yep of niggle is nil. I’d sell in January and bring someone in with a little bit of desire to want to pull on the shirt.

Don’t think Ange is a “due to circumstances” kind of guy - Look at Sanchez and Dier. We have NO ONE behind VVD and Romero but Ange was fine to dump Sanchez and has frozen Dier out of the squad. Looks like our current third center back is 18 year old Ashley Phillips, who has never played a single minute in the EPL and only has 5 starts in the Championship! To dare is to do!

Have my doubts about LoCelso too but not writing him off until Ange does. If Ange wanted him gone this summer, he’d be gone either on loan or on a permanent (like Ndombele and Sanchez). LoCelso certainly would not have resisted a move like Dier.

He's absolutely fucking wank, let's not beat around the bush.

Him and Gil are only suited to Spain so let them go back to Spain.
And to that end, I would be very reticent to sign players from Spain based on their form there. We knew GLC was bombed out of PSG because he couldn't hack it there. He's astonishly average at everything when it comes to English football.

I would rather play unknown kids than the very well known Eric Dier. We KNOW Dier will let us down. We KNOW he's a coward.
Chuck an 18 year old on and he MIGHT be shit. Or he MIGHT be a gem. I'd rather not know what I'm gonna get.

you using Dier as an example pretty much confirms that he can indeed be a "due to circumstances" kind of guy.

Dier was clearly behind Sanchez in the pecking order yet when Sanchez was sold and we didn't bring In a CB ..Dier was brought back on the subs bench. Of course its clear he doesn't rate him and would rather he was sold but we don't have any cover at CB so due to circumstances he has to be on the bench now.

PEH & GLC out / Eze in

Too much sense.... Time is perfect....

Bored of these lads (GLC) that never play; taking up spots and limiting out depth.

That's not how things played out.... It was clear fairly early in the summer that GLC was gonna get another crack..... It wasn't a reaction to the closing weeks of the window.

PEH leaving (or not) was clearly the catalyst for us signing another MF.

You are spot on. The thing I like about Ange is he's a pragmatist and unlike Conte will not cut his nose off to spite his own face. He seemed to prefer N'dombele then got to know him and talked up Locelso. He clearly preferred Sanches but he was still a saleable asset and behold Dier is back in the match day squad. The hope I have is we are making a play for Eze and feelers are out, as Hojbjerg -honest pro that he is wants to play for a living- we will keep Locelso till the summer when Palace will consider selling Eze. And Locelso can ho to Spain

I mean... everyone make mistakes. I think that includes Ange.

This is a forum for discussion, and I think it is perfectly normal to discuss and put some of Ange's decisions under questioning.

We have one good example of Ange making wrong call - his starting lineup for Fulham was awful and we lost this game. You know what ? This lineup also included Lo Celso. Who should have been an archidect of our attacks, but we failed to have a shot on target against Fulham bench players for what - 40 first minutes?

And we have gotten such dissapointments from Lo Celso one after another after another. So I think it is justified to be sceptical and point out where we see him lacking ability and / or determination.

no it was clear Lo Celso was going to have another crack when Ndombele (who was meant to be starting the first pre season game) got injured. Without that injury I don't think Lo Celso would have got a look in.

Which was when? On the eve of our first pre-season game. Not at the latter end of the window or related to our striving for 2/3 CBs as you originally implied......

If we'd given up on any movement at MF then why was one of the main stories of the final week of the window PEH/Gallagher?

what are you talking about? we've been striving for 2 cbs since Ange got here. You think we just suddenly decided to target cbs later on?

so what about stories? it was reported after the window that the Gallagher deal wasn't even close. I mean we will never know what would have happened if Hojbjerg.
