There was never anything wrong with the fucking handball rule. Accidental - no foul, penalty, card or need to rule out a goal. Deliberate, foul, penalty, card, rule out a goal etc. Some clarification was needed about what counts as deliberate but the rule itself didn't need to be changed.

The fucking around with it has fucked up countless games, including a CL final.

Yes, would still be given, as making himself much bigger and hit above shoulder level.

The silhouette is still going to be there for handballs, but they will be making it the same offence for a defender as an attacker now (i.e. not rule out goals because it accidentally hits your arm within silhouette, an offence defender would not be punished for, just because it then falls to someone that scores a goal, although you still won't be able to directly score from goal)

The International Football Association Board (Ifab) has ruled that, from July 1 or sooner if competitions decide to implement the new rules, it is a handball offence if a player:

- deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball;

- touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised; or

- scores in the opponents’ goal:

directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper; or immediately after the ball has touched their hand/arm, even if accidental.

Accidental handball that leads to a team-mate scoring a goal or having a goal-scoring opportunity will no longer be considered an offence.

No it wouldn't .... clearly it was accidental .... when you jump your arms are used as counterbalance levers thus their position is not unnatural -

Why are you arguing this?

The real argument is 'deliberate' or 'accidental'.

Hand/arm to ball - or Ball to hand/arm.

Footballers are humans.

Referees/4th officials are humans.

It's a game contested between humans.

Referees/4th officials can make the decisions, don't you think?
