With this change would Dier's eyes closed back to play pen in the Newcastle game still be given?
David Elleray NEEDS to retire from IFAB, he meddles with the rules like they are his fucking toys.
Haha. Dont worry Im not stalking your history. Just hadnt been to this thread ina long time and that one was on the first unread page.I'll thank you to stop talking about Dier like that.
ps - I notice you just disagreed with a post I made some 6 months ago. Thanks for taking the time to consider it and not just lashing out rashly, as many others do.

Yes, would still be given, as making himself much bigger and hit above shoulder level.
The silhouette is still going to be there for handballs, but they will be making it the same offence for a defender as an attacker now (i.e. not rule out goals because it accidentally hits your arm within silhouette, an offence defender would not be punished for, just because it then falls to someone that scores a goal, although you still won't be able to directly score from goal)
The ones that would not be ruled out from next season
Fulham v us last night
Us at Sheff Utd last season
Man City against us both this and last season
Liverpool against us this season
The International Football Association Board (Ifab) has ruled that, from July 1 or sooner if competitions decide to implement the new rules, it is a handball offence if a player:
- deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball;
- touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised; or
- scores in the opponents’ goal:
directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper; or immediately after the ball has touched their hand/arm, even if accidental.
Accidental handball that leads to a team-mate scoring a goal or having a goal-scoring opportunity will no longer be considered an offence.
Why are you arguing this?No it wouldn't .... clearly it was accidental .... when you jump your arms are used as counterbalance levers thus their position is not unnatural -
