Lol the Kane fanboys again coming in to defend Kane's honor.

He's not though. He just puts up stats against shitty teams which is more of a function of our overall play.

Son does more than pad his stats against inferior teams.

Why doesn't Son scores against lesser teams?
I mean if that's all Harry Kane does.

This is the worst argument ever.
I like them both. But Kane numbers over the years tell who's better.

I'm done with this.
Son is phenomenal. But whoever thinks he's better than Kane doesn't have a clue about football.

Sounds like a male pornstar

Saying Kane is our best player doesn't mean I'm Kane fanboy cunto

Ignore him. He's alright until he starts talking about Kane, then he just turns into a fucking weirdo. Literally keeps him up at night no doubt, the worry that Kane just might end up the clubs greatest ever goal-scorer.

Look at it in here...Not gonna lie once I'd have rolled my sleeves up, but now im way less invested. You did that Harry. Enjoy big man from near 100% adoration to this.
Exactly how I feel. I remember how many people went to bat for Kane when Sammy made some valid points about why he didn't rate him as world class. A lot of us argued to the point of ad nauseam, because we were loyal to him. Even if he performs out of his skin for the rest of the season, I won't feel the same about him. Of course I want him to do well, only because it benefits the team.

They are both great. Can't say one is better than the other now.

I can. Kane overall, at his best, is a better (more rounded) player than Son. Hence why Kane can finish both top scorer and top assister over a season. Both are world-class at their best though, and both have different strengths.

Fucking pay me!!!
Which the vast majority won't. That's all well and good, but it does my tits in when they have a strong opinion on things at the club despite not actually being a true supporter in any sense of the word.

Many of them don't seem to like Kane too much either, either now or before. They want Tottenham to be Son FC basically. Mugs.

Just be respectful to the club if you're passing through.

I agree 100%. Nothing more pointless than arguing who’s better. There’s no objective standard to determine it. Comparing a goal tally between the two is ridiculous since one is a winger and the other is a striker. Son’s ability to score fools everyone to think he’s competing with Kane, but Son’s goals should be compared with those of Stevie, Gil and Moura (Bale doesn’t even get close to Kane’s goals, so does that prove Kane is better than prime Bale based on that one factor? Just using Bale as an example, in case there is any biased towards Son). Even between wingers, Son has beat, say, Neymar in goals/assists for the past 2 seasons, so is Son better than Neymar? I’m not saying who’s better or not, but just pointing out how using one or two factors over others - whether quantifiable and non-quantifiable - is just arbitrary, especially the primary purpose of one’s position is scoring goals and the other’s isn’t. This is just a pointless debate - we should debate why is Winks still here, etc.

Who’s more important is also a very fluid concept, since Son and Kane have very distinctive strengths and weaknesses that weigh differently depends not only on an opposition and how we play (actively or reactively), but also on a myriad of random situations that can arise throughout the game.

Kane/Son are both top top class acts any team would love to have. Sadly, one willingly extended his contract, while the other willingly tried to get out of his. I value those who stood by me when I was at my lowest.

Easy - 1) Harry takes penalties so it gives the perception of him being a more consistent goalscorer, 2) Harry plays centrally and further forward than Son so he gets the most goal scoring chances.

Should they switch positions with Son playing striker and Kane playing out wide, Kane would have 1/3 of the goals he normally scores and Son would put up 30+ goals a season. That would never happen though because Kane doesn't have the ability or pace to play out wide. Son could easily play striker.

Separately, when one is playing without the other, Son has the ability to not rely on good service so he doesn't wait for the game to come to him. No Kane? No problem. He is the game changer regardless of who he has around him or who we're playing against. Of course, I say this with the understanding that Son does have extended rough patches which is frustrating but who doesn't.

Don't get me wrong, I think Harry is one of the most dangerous strikers when he has the ball at his feet in and around the box but Son is as close to a complete player as it can get. He's literally a threat from anywhere on the pitch and team's need to reconsider their tactics when he's playing.

There's a reason why we've been able to be relatively successful without Kane and why our form collapses without Son ultimately leading to pathetic losses to Dynamo, Crystal Palace and draw against Rennes without Son.

I honestly don't think Kane or Son is the problem of Spurs, they were 1st and 3rd goalscorer of PL last season, they were leaders of the league and the ones who carried this club. If they are provided with plenty of support from others they can easily lead the league in goals and carry this club to glory, as they had such little support from middle, they just had to feed one another with assists, they were 1st and 3rd in assists, too.

The real problem lays with lack of creativity in the middle, in short, Spurs failed to replace Eriksen.
Spurs spent more than 100M Euros on Ndombele+Lo Celso transfer, but neither of them really replaced Eriksen, that's the bottom line of Spurs problem. This lack of ideas and creativity in the middle is the reason of Spurs struggle in attack, Spurs just don't have a playmaker on the pitch.

When we had Eriksen Spurs usually excelled opposition in possession, nowadays we can't even win possession against likes of Palace and Wolves, let alone making crucial chances, it's so severely lacking that Spurs are rock bottom 20th in chance making. In current environment it's hard to produce results even with Kane and Son.

You're spot on but the fact is, we don't have the Eriksen type of player anymore. So ultimately, we need to find a style of play that works best for the team and a style that will help us improve from being a 6/7th place squad.

I've suggested playing Kane as a permanent #10 to give our midfield a boost and playing Berg / Lucas on the wings with Son up top. Playing Berg / Son / Lucas worked well against City and during the pre season so I'm not sure why we just decided to scrap it just to make room for Kane. It's changed the dynamics of the team like it did in the CL Final.

Rather have a playmaker to feed Kane than make Kane to feed Berg and Lucas, the most simple and best solution this problem is have Ndombele step up and become true replacement of Eriksen.
