Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hopefully we'll have Lucas and Berg fit

These two really go underappreciated because they're not clinical in front of the goal but they offer a lot
At times i feel we should go without kane too, but we cant rely on just Son to score the goals. We have only 2 proper goalscorers and have to find a way to fit both of them in. If we take out kanes' assists and goals and at the same time having lost Bale/Lamela's contributions, we'd be fucked.

Terrible from owner/paritici to not buy attackers in the window except gil who has been relegated twice and has scored 6 topflight goals in his life.

It is funny when you look at our rivals and the kind of wide players they possess and the numbers they put up (whilst also tracking back and offering energy, look at Mane & Salah) and then we're calling two absolute donkeys who put up single digit numbers between them 'underappreciated' just because they run about a bit.

They're attacking players, not water carriers. If Kane or Son don't score, nobody does in this team. It's actually pathetic how little goal threat our so called 'supporting cast' provide.
Bale really papered over the goal threat we lost from Eriksen and Dele. It was always DESK scoring the goals when we , ahem, used to be good at football.

You're forgetting that when Kane was out and Lucas was an instrumental part of our attack, he scored 15 goals in a season. The way we play and the tactics employed matters a lot. For instance, if we suddenly ask Kane to play in Son or Lucas's role, he's going to score 1/3 of the goals he normally does, maybe less.

My point is that if we utilize Lucas/Berg as focal points of our attack like Kane/Son, they will be more productive players as far as goal contributions.

Both Lucas and Bergwijn get in to plenty of goalscoring positions. I've lost count of the amount of times Bergwijn in particular has fluffed his lines and missed key opportunities. They're both just not clinical players at all, Lucas had one period at the club where he had a purple patch, and aside from that has not shown goalscoring ability.

If you make either of those two players your focal point, we will finish bottom half. Every team in the top half has better wide attacking options than them. There are a lot of players who play supporting roles in world football and still manage better than the pathetic 1-2 goals and 2-3 assists these absolute frauds manage in a season.

Yes they haven't been clinical over the last two seasons but they had very strange roles under Jose where they were playing essentially as wingbacks. Lets see what Nuno can bring out of them.

Hojbjerg (you know, the guy we had in a pure ball winner role last season) managed more g/a than Bergwijn in the league last season. So far he's out producing him this season as well.

He was one assist or goal off matching Lucas' output. I don't want to hear anything about how they're being let down by their roles. They get more than enough opportunities in and around the box to show some sort of ability, and they consistently fail to do so.

They are bad footballers. Guys like Richarlison, Leon Bailey, Trossard, Jarrod Bowen or Pedro Neto are significantly better than they are. And these are far from even being the top class options in similar positions, they're just decent.

I can understand saying we have to utilise them this season, because we have no choice. But if we want to progress at all as a team, guys like Bergwijn and Lucas have to be moved on for more productive players, it's as simple as that.

There is zero evidence this is the case and plenty of reports that the opposite is the case.

Also you really think that City was Kane or bust? They bought no striker in, if they were that desperate for Kane but Levy wouldn’t negotiate surely they would have brought someone else in.

Most of the reports I've read say that city made one opening bid early in the summer, Levy turned it down and then refused to negotiate further. Guardiola himself went on a rant that Levy didn't want to negotiate.

Guardiola is like a spoiled brat, he wanted Kane and if he couldn't get him he didn't want anyone else this summer. He wanted Grealish, despite not needing him because of all the attacking players he already has, but still what Pep wants the club tries to deliver.

Guardiola did what's generally not done - openly discuss pursuing a player from another team.

Disgusting and classless.

It was a last desperate attempt to force the situation

Indeed..... Our boy Igula Igula insists they didn't even want to buy a striker doe'.

Def didn't want Ronaldo either:

Hahaha. 8 paragraphs about tactics in a game we got fucked in when we couldn't get our best striker a shot on goal because he was too fucking far away from the penalty area playing out left with these awesome tactics.

He needs to be more central, nearer the fucking goals.
Absolutely scintillating analysis as usual. Just put me on ignore like you said you have twice now. Just have the bottle to actually tag me next time, another thing you never do.

It's not necessarily the personnel. We need to create more. Expecting Berg and Lo Celso to score from at best 1 or 2 attempts is unrealistic (it's proving hard enough for two world-class players Kane & Son to achieve this).
