From where I was it looked like we were trying to get Kane involved but we struggled with slow build up, we’re much better breaking quickly upfield ala vs Liverpool.

Conte seemed to have him higher up (I think Kane mentioned he wanted this from him) today whereas previously he’s dropped in to 10 a lot more.

I’m happy about that. I don’t like Kane trying to be a CM. In the future I expect to see him get plenty of the ball but more in the penalty box.

In the past, we would have tried to force it to Harry even if the pass wasn't there but we're not doing that anymore

We're looking for the open man and every open player with an opportunity are taking their chances

We had 17 shots today, Kane had 2.

This is what we've been waiting for. A more dynamic, unpredictable, free flowing team with multiple players flying in and out of the box/dangerous areas

And of course, Kane as our target man up top will be a big part of it albeit, less involved than prior years

Agreed. He should be a cog in the machine, an important part but still a cog. I still think you want your striker getting more touches in the box than today, but 100% it’s a good thing that we’re a more varied, unpredictable attacking force.

Conte has us playing as a team, long may it continue.

FYI - Messi is nearly always top of 'pre-assists' lists, it's a little used metric that always highlights quality players. Maybe it should be more of a 'thing' ....

I will only add that anyone who cannot recognise that sometimes it's the pass before the assist that is key, doesn't fully get their football.

Not saying it needs or can become a metric but it is massively important at times.

Seriously this.

The passes leading up to the assist should not be blindly valued or ignored.

If a through ball leads to a 2 on 0 breakaway and the players pass to create an open goal, I have to question the intelligence of anyone that disregards the through ball because it doesn’t count as an assist.
