Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Tottenham started planning for Kane's exit in February and explored the possibility of signing in-demand Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland, 20, from Borussia Dortmund. (Mail)

Sadly, Harry would probably very much rather be at Dortmund next season and see that as a step up (if Dortmund are the only team loaded after selling Haaland to City for £150M...!!! I know I know Dortmund are much too progressive for that, right?! They'll have Daka smashing in 40 a season and pocket £100M).

Trippier is a game away from becoming the 88th.

Take away the worthless shit and you're left with just ten players.

Bit weird to count trophies Bale & Modric won together as 'different'. They aren't unique cup wins, which is 14 of them.

Charity shields... are you having a laugh?

10 players, 36 trophies.
Actually thought it would be more to be honest.

Dimitar Berbatov: 3x EPL, 1x Club World Cup, 1x League Cup
Kevin-Prince Boateng: 1x La Liga, 1x Serie A, 1x German Cup
Didier Zokora: 1x Spanish Cup
Kyle Walker: 3x EPL, 1x FA Cup, 4x League Cup
Luka Modrić & Gareth Bale: 4x UEFA CL, 2x Spanish League, 1x Spanish Cup, 4x FIFA Club WC, 3x UEFA Super Cup
Paulinho: 1x Spanish League, 1x Spanish Cup
Federico Fazio: 1x Europa League
Christian Eriksen: 1x Italian League
Fernando Llorente: 1x Italian Cup

Didier Zokora: 1x Spanish Cup

Let’s not forget Juan Foyth. Small possibility, but still possible that he wins a European trophy with Villarreal. We have become such a joke that everyone leaves spurs or goes out on loan and ends up winning trophies elsewhere. We are just a banter club.

Not even one bit mad at Kane for doing this, no one in football deserves a winning club with trophies and goal records more than him. Such a shame we couldn't give it to him here, he would have loved nothing more than that.

Just hope he joins Man City or a club abroad. He's an idiot if he goes to Man Utd. Chelsea is out of the question, he wouldn't do that to Spurs fans.

The issue is raised due to the fact that we failed to even win any tinfoil trophies. We could have more go in FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League all these years if not for the fact, we got eliminated by low league opponents like Gent (?), Dinamo Zagreb, Colchester, Leeds (when they were a Championship team)... We're in no position to laugh off at these not big trophies . Look at how serious Man City is with League Cup.

I am not the one doing the counting on Reddit, so Modric and Bale case has nothing to do with me.

There are 13? trophies worth mentioning played for each season.
So since 2008 that's 169 trophies up for grabs since we last won one.

104 players have left us in the time.
That's 0.125 trophies per player, with Bale & Modric making up for more than 1/3 of them.

They are just stats with an agenda.
If you release / sell over 100 players all over Europe, statistically there are 30, 40, 50+ clubs winning trophies to compare against Spurs - who haven't won any for a while.

I counted the league cup wins anyway.

I didn't count Romanian, Egyptian, South African, Saudi Arabian trash.
What the hell is an MLS supporters shield compared to a US open cup? Seriously.
The Chinese Charity Shield? Haha

Honestly, we joke about the Audi cup but it's more prestigious than some of this shit.

Weren't you/we having this discussion amongst much dissent from others not a few months ago? Wonder how quickly folks will get on to the inevitable now? You should make your efficiency argument now. Might have a few more takers now that they have to rationalize the inevitable.

Who's your recommendation as replacement? As my choice of Assistant/Scout, your job is on the line Mr!!! Better Daka and you stay

It’s a 3 year deal. That might work next year or the year after but this is a Zaha situation, Levy has the contract. He will sell if a stupid price is meet. He might put a £200m tag on Kane and see if City throw something insane like £180m. But anything short of a crazy crazy price he has no reason to sell for at least 12 months.
And like the Zaha situation we will regret it in a few years. We should sell as it makes sense on the sporting side and the financial side. We should have sold/blown up the squad after Poch's firing. In retrospect, how people don't see this I will never know. We haven't improved, we've gone backwards. We are late getting rid on our own terms and now we are being dictated to as a club. We've screwed up again.
Sell him for anything over 80M + incentives and do the rebuild that should have begun 3 seasons ago. Even if Harry and Sonny stay things will be the same next season as we and they are not good enough to carry the shit that we are presently.

And yes, that is my actual take on it and has been (not the money) for multiple seasons now.

To be fair, we weren't the ones out there playing in cup finals. We were spending our hard earned to ensure he would doing it.

Kane's performances in the Cup Finals we have reached were hardly worthy of trophies - he can blame everyone else but when the chips were down he was as poor as the rest of them ... if he now wants to glory hunt on the backs of better players then good luck to him ... hope he takes a few of our glory hunting 'fans' with him.

We live and die as a team not as individuals, always thought Kane got that, obviously not.

Off on a tangent, as kids we found that you could call the operator and ask for reverse charges to another phone box, they would just call it and ask if you accept the reverse charge in a phonebox, then you got free calls.

Also, in the late 80s early 90s you could put a 10p into the phonebox, whack the centre of the coin box and it would release the 10p back to you whilst keeping your credit.

Society has really gone to pot since I was a kid...

This is not gonna bolster my bona fides for the position but I am not up on Daka. Don't have the space to watch RBS and I was even more motivated seeing as they had a 'Murican at the helm. Similar happened with Haaland.

But my recommendation would be to lose the expectation of recruiting a CF to score 20 goals of his own making. REbuild the squad, recruit a progressive manager that understands there are 3 phases (+sp) to the games and all are equally important, and devise an attack that creates chances from everywhere/one. None of that there needs Harry Kane.

We are going nowhere next season with or without HK so we might as well plan for and accept the long haul.
