Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If it had been in writing,he would already be a City player me thinks.
Yep, but he's not the first to come out and say Levy made a Gentleman's agreement that he's gone back on.

If you were a young extremely talented player, say Ryan Gravenberch, and you wanted to go to Real or Barca but they didn't come in, but Spurs did. He meets Levy who tells him, here sign a 5 year contract and if Real or Barca come in for you I'll let you go. After all these "Gentleman's agreements" would you trust him? We could miss out on players thanks to all this shit storm with verbal agreements that Levy makes.

If Romero comes in and has a fantastic season and Real or Barca decide they want him, we're going to be in this situation all over again aren't we?

Then get it in writing.
His agent/brother isn't up to much is he? And if what you say is true, about Levy and past Gentleman's agreements(which I don't doubt),then the two Kanes are a bigger pair of fools that I first thought.

100%.

Levy the snake who has presided over bringing us an amazing stadium and who has been at the helm to see us reach as many CL finals as that red team down the road..

My view now is that we are close to not being able to afford to sell Kane, not because I want him to stay but because I can't see us getting the replacements.

If Kane stays he will play and he will score goals.

The only option is that we already have 2 strikers bought on the quiet.
Absolutely.

Set a deadline and a price that suits us. They don't meet either? Kane remains for this coming season. Kane has incinerated any goodwill towards him that the club may have been inclined towards.

I don’t think so. A good agent wraps up that gentlemen’s agreement more formally. Price and conditions (no CL) should have been defined in some form of contract amendment - amateurish from Kane’s lawyer

26 days to the end of the transfer window and Kane not even available to discuss it face to face. As Paratici even had a meaningful discussion with him. We will never have time to spend any funds should we be forced to sell.
Kane has gone so far down in my opinion of him that I hope he does not play before the Internationals and am awaiting to hear who the New England captain is going to be. If he stays and I really do not think MC are going to get even close to our valuation then the big problem will be the dressing room. If Kane eventually plays and scores will the others go and celebrate with him or snub him.

If Harrry does go we look like we are heading down that well trodden Road of little or no time or options of suitable replacements before the season begins .Hopefully behind the scenes they know what is really likely to happen .
This has got the Berbatov transfer written all over it.......

Deadline day move for Kane to City and we end up getting some Man City academy player "striker" that no one has ever heard of.

I honestly think that Levy thinks we can cope fine without Kane........ He's either completely oblivious to football and the team or he's just being disingenuous.

Typical profits before team mentality.

Or...

The "Gentleman's agreement" has been spun out of moonbeams and rainbows by the players that have used it as an excuse.

IMO, that's a lot closer to the truth.

he's gone - we might as well bite the bullet, get it over with, take Jesus (the player, not deity) in partex, with Silva and build another team

Time to move on

PS -If he comes to WHL scores and kisses the city badge like Sheringham did then he should get full on Judas treatment

I think it’s time for us to let him go, but only at the right price and only if we can use the full fee to replace him quickly and strengthen in other areas. 99% of us can agree that he has been a phenomenal player for us but is he going to get any better especially if his heart is elsewhere? It would be great if we had the option to stick him in the reserves for the rest of his contract to teach him and others a lesson but that would reduce his value and be cutting our nose off to spite our face. Whilst he is a fantastic finisher he is 28 now, has very suspect ankles and showed at the Euros that he often lacks the intelligent movement of a Cavani or a Sheringham. He may find it harder in a City team or Utd etc to thrive where a greater variety of striking options available won’t necessarily see him as an automatic pick if he produces some of the anonymous performances that he produced at the Euros and at times for Spurs. As for Harry the man, his behaviour is very surprising but in reality may in part be caused by a combination of receiving bad advice and dare I say it a lack of intelligence on his own part. Very disappointing

God the more I stew on this the more its frustrating me. Harry Kane actually went out the end of the season and did a whole long interview with Neville basically saying he wanted to leave. I read that more as a bit of pressure to Levy to spend rather than him actually wanting to leave. Now he's gone on strike without even speaking to the new manager.

Kane is absolutely done as a spurs player. I don't care if he comes on screen and apologises I don't want him near the squad again. Completely selfish man who thinks he's better than his colleagues and any fan that cheers him this year if he ends up making a comeback has absolutely zero respect for themselves.

Can I remind everyone out first game is against City. Kane won't be starting that match because he's not even been back for pre season yet so it's very clear he's been told to do this and avoid playing again before the move happens.

At this stage I honestly think the best Tottenham could do is the following:

1. Sell for £120-£130 million. No other terms

2. Sell for £100 mil and see if Jesus will sign from City as a swap on strikers.

The sweet sweet justice if we swapped strikers and Jesus went on to have a better season than Kane.

I'll be cheering on every fucking team outside of City next year because between Pep crying into the cameras about his irreplaceable striker Aguero to Kanes antics forcing a move away and City just splashing whatever they want on players they're so so wrong for football you just accept it most of the time.

Fuck Harry Kane and we cannot let up if the move fails And Kane ends up back with us playing. Do not let up on the prick he thinks he's better than the players, fans and club as a whole, he's just a disingenuous prick and City will very soon realise that for all the greatness of Kane, its usually Son that scores the big goals when we need them.

I am really surprised at how quickly our fans have turned on Harry.

None of us know what’s gone on behind the scenes. Being a Spurs fan for all these years under Levy, I would first suspect that he has forced Harry down this path. This way, Levy comes out on the better end with him taking a sort of a win-win situation where if Harry pushes for a move, he destroys us fans’ affection for him and his reputation. If Harry doesn’t push hard for a move, he will have to bow down and stay how Levy wants him. It’s a lose-lose situation for Harry.

But.....

I think you are wrong. I really hope you are. The stakes on this are too high.

For now Levy is staying silent, so City or Kane need to blink first but soon it will be irrelevant.

Whats going to happen:

Kane will be sold close to deadline day

wont be enough time to buy anyone else

that 150m will disappear in the enic bank

continue saying “no money because of covid” for the next 5 - 10 years

You're borrowing trouble here. You've invented a scenario in your head and you're running with it.

We don't make "profit" from player sales per se, it all goes back into the squad.

Having said that, the writing really is on the wall atm. It seems clear that Kane will be leaving either this window or either of the next 2. Therefore, succession planning is a must. Levy now needs to gamble by getting in adequate striker replacements now imo. Get them in, get them integrated and acclimatised to the league, then sell Kane further down the line.

It's a gamble, but it may pay off financially. At this point in time, only City have shown interest because all the traditional big spenders, and I'm talking about RM & Barca, are massively cash strapped. In a season's time, they may have a better handle on their finances. RM in particular will be looking to replace Benzema, who's going to be knocking on the door of 35 years old next season.
Barca have Aguero, Delay and Brathwaite (if they offload Griezeman & Dembele as touted) Aguero is the same age as Benzema, so he'll have the same scenario.

Juve might even be interested, as Ronaldo should be drawing his pension by next Summer!

There are positives to the gamble, as well as the negatives of Kane's own age increase and diminished contract duration, but for me, it's a worthwhile gamble.

I've kept fairly schtum on our transfer activity this Summer, but I do feel that we are currently at a watershed here. Whether we sell Kane or not this window, we absolutely MUST get in a couple of good strikers either to replace immediately or as successors. Otherwise, we run the risk of losing out on quality that is available now, but are unlikely to be once the European clubs get their shit together.
