Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Kane has been with Spurs for 10 odd years and won nothing. During this time, his mates have left Spurs and won trophies. That's why he wants to leave. What's wrong with that? Hes more guaranteed to win a trophy with the City team than Spurs.
Nothing wrong with leaving. Providing that someone pays what the club are willing to accept. Angling for a move and not being where you should be when clearly no such bid exists is deeply wrong.

Guaranteed is an absolute. There is no such thing as more guaranteed. As I explained he might increase his odds of winning something. But he’s guaranteed nothing. No one is. You nor I can guarantee that Spurs won’t win more than City next year. Different competitions aside, anything is possible. Unless you (not you personally) fundamentally believe City will win everything. If that’s a collective belief why, all the outrage at a non competitive ESL ?

Maybe Kane just calculated the situation poorly, he looked at how Levy has messed things up the last few years and figured he would have more support from fans by telling Levy to fuck off...so he probably thought that if he applied a bit of pressure by delaying his return he would still have plenty of sympathy in the bank...except that he's fucked it completely and now has to save face...

If he thinks yesterday's mealy-mouthed nothing statement will get the job done; that's poor calculation #4.

#1 - No release clause
#2 - Neville Show
#3 - Striking
#4 - Woe is me statement.

there’s ways of doing it son and doing a Gary Neville interview name checking City, putting valuations on himself and talking of playing with other players (De Bruyne ) is taking the piss, especially when you are going against your boyhood club and the fans that have adored you for 10 years. You just don’t do it. You get your nut down, don’t cause a fuss and express behind closed doors your desire to possibly leave. If the valuation is met, then he’s free to go. Until then, you train and play for the club that pay you 250k a week. That’s what’s wrong mate. Harry Kane will be a Spurs player this season though and we are just going to have to slowly forgive him.
The interview was worse than what's happened this week, imv. Kane has shown - at best - naivety in how he has handled this situation.

I almost forgive your defending.

Vega is making himself look a right knob. Completely irrelevant and bang average former player that was nowhere near the level of Kane. But as long as he continues to get a few pats on the back by Tottenham fans he'll keep giving his opinion on social media and making himself feel far more important and relevant than he actually is.

I agree as well.We were still playing for something when he did that interview.I am struggling to see how anyone can defend that.So he potentially messed up the end of last season, and now trying to mess up the start of this one.
Good to see its not just his goal rate that is consistant

As a side note, Terry Naylor has his book launch in the Coach& Horse today. He may not have had Kanes talent, but that man is truly loved by the fans that remember him playing for us.Will Harry be in 30 years time?
Who knows

fair enough. I can see this is an emotional thing for you.

its not for me.
It’s not an emotional thing for me at all. I do not know Harry Kane. I’m unlikely to see my life affected in anyway by the actions he undertakes.

My position on this is double fold. Firstly, I want the best for THFC and will, where possible, defend them against outside influence. Manchester City in this case. I am critical of Levy etc, but I won’t accept external criticism of the club nor the owners, where it cannot be validated. Secondly, I do not believe in guarantees and Kane is moving for Money. Nothing more.

Winning at Spurs could be argued as being harder than winning at City, so it’s easier for Kane to move perhaps. Work less hard for more money. I logically understand that. But to paint the move as some due favour because he’s earned it is utterly disrespectful to Tottenham and our history.

Would you rather play with the likes De Bruyne, Foden, Grealish and Gundogan every week or the likes of Nbombele, Lo Celso, Lucas Moura and Sissoko? There's part of the actual answer.

Agree with most of this but I don't think it's just money - Kane has spoken openly about his desire to win trophies and I take him at his word on this. FWIW (which is nothing!) going to Man City is a bit of a coward's way out, they won the league easily last year and Kane is banking on picking up a league medal without having to do most of the work himself like he does here.

I will cheer his goals in the coming season but won't be chanting 'he's one of our own' etc. Ruined it for me.

The benefits of their whole multi-club self-owned farm system is kicking in now too.... Random players appearing on their books that are being sold for significant money without having ever played a game for them..... The fix is well and truly in.

ESL would have been terrible news for this filth.
Is anyone else beginning to think ,whats the point? We cant, and probably never will be able to compete financially with this lot.

Unfortunately, the easiest way Kane could win the Champions League was by turning up on 1 June 2019 and putting in a man of the match performance against an off tone Liverpool. If he wanted to win the league, what happened with his influence as recently as December 2020 when Spurs were top and somehow imploded to shit. It was not everyone else’s fault and not his.

I agree with you. He’s not one of our own. As far as I know he ( like I ) is a Walthamstow man. Nothing would take me to poxy Manchester :-)

Been feeling this way for years now......

Just got sidetracked by the romance of doing it with Poch; but the football gods smiled on Leicester that year instead..... The following year a Europe-free Chelsea spent 200m and bought he league once again.

What sickens me the most is how few other club's fans seem to be switched on to what's happening....... Are we just sensitive to it as it has effected us the most? (I suspect so.).... Ditto the media's ambivalence.

The deeper sentiment behind the whole ESL outcry was so bogus!

You cannot move to “win things”. What if he goes to City and they finish 2nd, make the semifinals of Champions League, runners up in a close league cup final and somehow crash out of the FA cup before being handed it. He’s had a good season, but won nothing. This is the reality. Great teams don’t always win.

The frankly brilliant 1986-87 Tottenham team won nothing. Coventry City did however win a major trophy. Who do you remember most ? Trevor Peake or Richard Gough ?

Kane moving might increase his chances of winning the league, but that’s all. The only guarantee is he will be paid more.

There is absolutely no reason at all that Spurs cannot win the FA Cup, League Cup, Conference League or finish in the Top 4. Will they? Perhaps not, but I can’t guarantee they won’t any more than I can guarantee City will.

So is this about the “big” trophies being the ones that count to Kane?. These are the hardest to win. City have never won the Champions League, why will they win it guaranteed in the next few years ? Liverpool beat city to the title 14 months ago, might happen again, who knows what comes next.

What does the move Guarantee ? M O N E Y. Not just for Harry, but millions for those around him too. It’s all about the money.
We have close to a 0% chance of winning trophies and city have close to 100% chance of winning trophies based on the last 10 years. If anyone is interested in winning trophies, the choice is obvious.
