Why should we terminate a perfectly legal contract on our best player ? It makes no sense. He signed it,he should honour it,or at least to such a time that what ever another club is willing to pay,is acceptable to us. That hasn't happened yet
Contracts have been terminated in the past,but rarely one like this. Only 28,at the top of his game,has his rep as England skipper to think of?
