Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Kane was at the centre of almost everything we did well, playing the ball wide to bring in the attacking full backs, drawing the defence to leave first Moura then Son in acres of space - not to mention the 'tap-in' striking a ball going across his body with so much pace that a perfectly placed quality keeper couldn't stop it, that tap-in.

Sure not many touches, but a huge influence none the less.

That's where we are missing Eriksen, a player of his ilk. Our midfield is workmanlike but not creative at all, and the ball's into all of our forwards are often slow and predictable. Signing a creative player, someone who can pick a pass, will make a massive difference to us. We need to feed both Harry and Son much more than we are doing.

Actually read something interesting in this thread for the first time in ages. Never realised Les Ferdinand had so many goals.

Seriously this.

The passes leading up to the assist should not be blindly valued or ignored.

If a through ball leads to a 2 on 0 breakaway and the players pass to create an open goal, I have to question the intelligence of anyone that disregards the through ball because it doesn’t count as an assist.
If it was someone other than kane that did it certain people here wouldnt have a problem with it

The progress isn't linear, but Kane is improving. He is clawing his way back under Conte.

What I’m hearing here is we gotta keep emphasizing getting Sanchez half volley chances from the penalty spot to win games.

Take a look at our scorers against premier league teams this season under Conte

Son x4
Lucas x3
Kane x2
Berg
Regi
PEH
Sanchez

That's 7 different goalscorers in 8 games.

We're getting a lot of shots, scoring and winning.

So yes, we're going to need others to keep shooting when they have an opening.

The minute Kane takes 31% of our shots (like he did last season) is the minute we go back to being the shit team that we were last season under Jose/Harry Kane ball.

Ideally our chances should fall to our forwards. Kane, Son, Lucas, Berg who have trained all their lives as attackers and scoring goals. But you are right in saying we should be creating chances for whoever thats open rather than just aim for Kane who might be double man marked.
