Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

In a different team, Kane would be scoring.
Errrrrr he scored last season in this team, with shit managers

This is the very last thing some of you have got left, simply because it can’t be proven otherwise yet

Logic says to me though that if Kane can’t look better than Ben Davies or Doherty, then he won’t offer much to any other team

Haaland or Lewandoski would score goals in this team. Even Son has double Kane’s goals and he’s been shit. Even Hojberg and Sanchez have pooped up with a couple.

I think that’s what you’ve got to look at, as opposed to the (sorry) ridiculous notion that somehow we have Kane 2017 trapped in a poor team.

Kane 2017 would still look good in this team.

Kane is past his best. But would be scoring more goals in a different team.

He is still good enough to feature in this Spurs team.

Levy should have taken the money.

It is based on observing those around him.

But remember, Levy should have taken the money.

Those around him aren’t the reason he’s missed 8 big chances in the PL though

We already went here the other day:

A situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score, usually in a one on one scenario or from very close range when the ball has a clear path to goal and there is low to moderate pressure on the shooter. Penalties are always considered big chances.

Every player misses chances but I also posted this:

Even Son, having a relatively subdued season has missed 7 but scored 8
Salah has missed 12 but scored 16
Jota missed 8 but scored 10
Mane missed 10 but scored 8
Vardy missed 5 but scored 9
Antonio missed 5 but scored 8

Kane has missed double the amount he’s scored: 4 goals 8 big chances missed.

This has absolutely nothing to do with his teammates.

Poor performance = About 4 or 5 pages of comments here.

Son, who was just as poor = About 4 or 5 comments.

That list shows all the games weve played without Kane . apparently 37 games and weve won 21 times So...'time and again' isnt wrong. 21 times is time and again. If anything those numbers show that we win slightly more points per game when he isnt playing. Doesnt take into account who we played and all that, but we are certainly not lost without Kane or need him to carry us.
I should start by making it clear I'm not trying to defend Kane, but these types of stats (as you've acknowledged, in fairness) aren't necessarily that reliable.

If, for example, we take 'points-won-whilst-playing' as a reliable indicator of performance, you might be surprised to learn that Winks comes top, having won 64.7% of the points available. Next comes Lloris on 63.7, with Son, Kane & Dier (in that order) all in the 62—63% range.

I doubt, however, you'd find anyone here arguing Winks was our best player.

Definitely true. But if we are winning games at a similar rate when Kane is not playing as when he is playing, he wasnt 'carrying' us.

I’m feeling he’s better than the alternatives in the squad, so gets his place.

The alternatives are basically zero and unknown i terms of strikers

I’d happily have give Dane more time, subbed on here and there. Or what is the actual point in him?

No one laughed when we swapped Soldado and Ade for Kane, except a few Tim bashers, and they were silenced immediately.

Kane being better than “nobody because he’s got no competition” isn’t a glowing review

The worst thing on Kane, for his continued admirers is that he is moving inexorably towards being another player.

If we were to be able to sign a very good striker, it's no longer the case at all that Kane would be numero uno.

The same applies for England, captain or not.

There was a time kane was considered better than lewandowski. Now one it has been widely considered has been robbed of a balon d'or and the other can't even hold a single ball up when it's played in to him.
