Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sucks in the current squad… but you look around the squad and who are the creative players?

Son - Weak passer and racked up most of his assists by beating a player wide and crossing. Doesn’t seem to have his pace anymore.

Lucas - Can dribble and create space but usually can’t pass.

PEH - Not a good footballer

Reggie - Average left back that occasionally creates a chance

Emerson - Poor attacker

Skipp - Progressive but rarely gets to the final 3rd

The rest are center backs. I mean who is going to create for Kane in this XI? If we can’t create for him, he doesn’t provide much.

True.

the kane/son/lucas trio up front is not good enough on the ball. it needs someone like gil or bergwijn up there who can keep the ball in the final third with a bit of composure. if youre going to play son and lucas you need a midfield who can play forward with quality, not two holding mids! the ball will just keep coming back time and time again and put too much stress on our weak defence.

it also helps when you have widemen who can actually cross a ball properly..they are only paid tens of thousands of pounds to kick a ball about, youd think they would be able to stick a half decent ball in the box from time to time

He put in a lot of effort against Chelsea and he was getting about quite a bit. Hard for a striker when no one is setting him up for any chances. We had no one in the middle of the park providing through balls for him to run onto and the crosses that did come through we terrible. Almost all the balls he got were with his back to the goal and he had a lot of Chelsea players on him when he got it. If Kane was getting through balls like he got against Liverpool the other week on a consistent basis, then his goal count would be much higher but he’s working on scraps right now.

So we have a manager who is utilising a system that nullifies what you think is our most important player and simply a victim of his teammates.

But you support the manager using that system

Good on you, have your cake, eat it and try not to choke

Yeah because that same system has us unbeaten in 8 league games. It has positives and negatives but has led to us being a much harder to play unit which can grind out points and creates chances via regular turnovers.

It's not ideal. Due to personnel it does mean our front 3 aren't getting much service. With the right additions that could change, in the meantime we still need to have established the formation and playing style Conte wants.

Son, Lucas and Berg up front for 2nd leg

Lucas has been worse than Kane all season and offers no upside to get better and Son has been just bad lately so not sure why it is Kane that is the guy that gets dropped. Bergwijn had a good half but outside of that has shown no reason to be starting.

If we are changing, and we should be, the move should be to a a 3-5-2 with Son and Kane upfront. Hopefully we are now done with the 3-4-3 and playing 3 upfront, it makes no sense at all.

So you also support a system which nullifies our attack and cuts off service to who you regard as our most important player?

And depends heavily on Royale doing something he can’t?

And needs two DMs against Watford?

Good for you, the results against proper teams (that haven’t played 6 games in a fortnight) were evident last night

Kane being better than “nobody because he’s got no competition” isn’t a glowing review
It was not meant to be a glowing review. But right now playing Kane is the best option.

Levy should have taken City money.

They gave 100 m for Grealish . It would have been at least that for Harry. Levy got greedy and it has come back to haunt him.

I support the system which Conte trusts in, and is likely to build success for us long term if we are patient with it and he gets the right backing. Klopp & Guardiola both had massive issues in their first season with not necessarily having the right personnel, but they stuck with their system.

It isn't perfect. No system will look perfect with this squad. But we have obviously fucking improved, every metric shows this. We lost 2-0 to the European Champions at Stamford Bridge and now you want to rip up the whole system? Get a grip.

If we can consistently beat the sides who you don't consider 'proper', we will be doing well enough in the table.
