Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I've changed my stance on a Kane transfer this summer.

Initially I thought it be best if we sold him this summer so we could at least put that money into our summer kitty giving us a better chance to improve the squad in other areas BUT

I have absolutely zero faith Levy has any meaningful plan/goal to actually have us competing and I don't want to see us relegated so keep and take the hit (whilst still hoping that Levy one day comes to his senses and surrounds him around semi decent footballers).

All the papers running Kane not for sale headlines today. Either that’s us telling people to fuck off or it’s Man U leaking it because they don’t want to pay for him.

Ornstein said on Sky’s Sunday morning football programme that he doesn’t think he’ll leave. We don’t want to sell and kaa as ne isn’t agitating for a move.

Sky are absolutely desperate for him to go to man u though. Really driving it hard.

Now we have no Europe to think about why sell him?

We just have to keep him fit for 1 league game a week and concentrate on the league position. Every now and then we might play midweek in the league but he will have plenty of time off to recuperate.

Wouldn’t surprise me he doesn’t get to play in the domestic cups at all next season. Or at best minimal minutes off the subs bench before we get knocked out by sone lower league team.

Whilst I agree with those who say there’s no reason Kane and Haaland couldn’t play together, why would City spend multi millions on Kane when they have Alvarez already stapled to the bench?

I’m convinced that he would have had around 30 goals this season if he’d played the minutes Kane and Halaand had played. He’s a fantastic player.

Kane can play with anyone in the world when the team has the ball.

Pep would never play Kane and Haaland together because if what they'd lose in terms of winning the ball back quickly.

Plus if we sold him who are we going to replace him with, the striker market is probably at it's worst for a long time, Toney being banned, Ferguson not ready, at least next Summer those two could be viable options...who else do you have Laturo Martinez is mad over rated, Kolo Muani is good but also needs another season...

Need to firmly kick the can down the road on this one and see where we are in 12 months time, we might even persuade Kane to stay on, you never know - things change quickly in football.

Some amazing stats here:

"Harry Kane began the season 25 goals behind Wayne Rooney in the Premier League scoring charts and three behind him in England's all-time scoring list and has toppled him in both lists.

Kane's second 30-goal Premier League season has seen him score in 26 different games (a joint record with Andy Cole in 1993-94), become the first player to score 100 away goals (currently 112), break the record for headed goals in a season (10) and, for a second time, still not win the Golden Boot when scoring 30.

All of this done in a Tottenham team that has finished eighth in the league, with this the lowest in a table a team has finished with a player scoring 30 goals since Ron Davies scored 37 in 1966-67 for Southampton. Kane's also done it without scoring a single hat-trick, a record for goals scored in a Premier League campaign without one.

Kane had the most shots (130) and shots on target (63) in the Premier League this season, and only seven players created more chances in open play. Kane covered 395km in the Premier League this season, the most distance covered by a striker."

I can see Kane going to Madrid.

I'm sure he wants the all time PL goal record. But at Real, he'll be a serious contender for the Ballon d'Or, league and champs league titles.

Real Madrid's allure is surely too much to resist for any player.

Also it would give Levy the small win of not selling to an English rival or losing him on a free.

My preference would be to keep him for another year and put some decent players around him with a progressive manager.

We would just piss the 70/80m up the wall anyway.

If we are going to blow up 80 million up the wall anyway...how are we going to put decent players around him with even less money.

The real and barca forwards are closer to 40 than 30. Kane is 29. He has plenty of time to sign for Blackburn, because that's the only thing separating him from Alan.

Relax with your family Harry

If you sell Kane for say £120million you have to deduct the money the new centre forward would cost. A decent one would be £50m+, so Spurs will only get £70m if they sold at £120m.

Kane did better than Haarland who the media are RAVING about. He got 30 goals for a team that finished 8th, Haarland got 6 goals more for City a team that was top by a mile!

Last week they asked Danny Murphy on Talksport who did better, he instantly said "Haarland" and there was silence then Jim White moved on. I'd like to hear the same question asked again to Murphy tomorrow.

Kane got his goals in 3408 minutes and Haaland in 2779 minutes and played 5 games less. City also sub him off because they want him to be ready for CL matches. In 3408 minutes , while Kane scored 30, Haaland scores 44 PL goals. Kane was excellent this year, Haaland was obviously better.

For the money we would likely have to spend I would prefer to roll the dice and keep him one last year .I don't know who our manager will be but if Harry goes we may well be looking at the results towards the bottom of the table next year instead of the upper end .The major overhaul required is unlikely to happen to our squad next year though hope I am well wrong about that .

It feels like the only realistic option this window is Madrid, should they decide to spend some money.

I don’t think we’ll even pick up the phone to UTD/City etc.
