Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It feels like the only realistic option this window is Madrid, should they decide to spend some money.

I don’t think we’ll even pick up the phone to UTD/City etc.

There is a media bias when it comes to spurs.
Where is the calls for Saka to leave Woolwich to win things after they bottled the league
If Kane leaves and wins a few cups at united or Newcastle they will say he left a spurs legacy for what some small trophies.
If he goes to Madrid, psg or Bayern thry will say it’s a farmers league
If he stays at spurs they say he lacks ambition!
not sure what he can do to get it right for them muppets in the media.

Kane got his goals in 3408 minutes and Haaland in 2779 minutes and played 5 games less. City also sub him off because they want him to be ready for CL matches. In 3408 minutes , while Kane scored 30, Haaland scores 44 PL goals. Kane was excellent this year, Haaland was obviously better.
How many more goals would Kane have for scored this season if De Bruyne (16 PL assists) had been playing for Spurs?

He'd be playing instead of the other attacker , most likely kulusevski, so he has 9 more assists than Kulusevski. And since not all of KDB's assists are for haaland, Kane would have score some more goals but not all 9 more.

Going back to the previous stats , if we added CL into the equation as well.

Kane in the League and CL has played 4128 minutes and scored 31 goals.
Haaland has played 3537 minutes and scored 48 goals. In 4128 minutes he would score..56 goals.

Kane's been great, but its pointless to argue against what Haaland has done, broken records, PL and CL topscorer, while playing fewer games and minutes.

Calling it now, Kane is ending his career at Spurs.

I've never been less sure of it, but I'm sticking with it.

<---------------- Reserving some space for the 'I told you so' I'll be trotting out later ------------------->

I don't think Haaland will keep up the same scoring rate next season. He's clearly excellent, but he's already been found out and will simply be as good as Kane at finishing, so very dependent on chances in the box (which he'll get, of course). But his outside the box play and assists are negligible.

He'll still get the golden boot, most likely, but I don't think his GPG stats are going to improve.

I'm not sure they won't want him. Kane can play with Haaland easy. With KDB showing signs of wear it would be a very clever buy from city.

Kane and Haaland woud be utterly devastating. If you are City there aren't many players you can get that will definiately improve them, but Kane is very obviously one and I continue to think Kane will play well into his thirties same sort of way Modric has at Real, that level of quality persists and remains useful even if pace goes.

Its possible. But he is also very very young. As he gains experience , theres no real reason why he would not improve his finishing and be more intelligent with his movement and score more goals.

Madrid possibly yeah, and what a place to play your football. Especially if Benzema goes to Saudi Arabia and grabs the money bags. They may well have to go and get him, but then I've no real clue about young or lethal strikers in Europe or South America as an alternative. Plus they have Endrick on the way (next summer I believe?) so they might hedge their bets there on the young lad with a lot of promise from Brazil.

Saying that, HK is a deep routed family man with another bambino on the way and Spain really is quite a cultural shift, a very lovely one, as I've found out recently having moved there, but you do feel far from home at times. And we all know if he doesn't hit the ground running the whistles will start up in the Bernabeau.

I think he stays this summer, holds the cards next and if we don't make real meaningful progress then he has the pick of the bunch.

And none of it driven by the media, I highly doubt he pays much attention to the absolute crap some of these talking cock wombles spew though will be waiting for one of them to say 'I've been saying for a long time he should go...'

Salah broke the PL record in his first season too, and like Haaland denied Kane a golden boot in the process. He couldn't keep it up.

No reason to believe Haaland will keep up his current rate of scoring. He scores some great goals but tbh, the majority of his goals are pretty standard inside the box finishes.

Salah's a winger . As Liverpool's midfield and other attackers got worse, hes more involved in creating rather than just scoring.

While Kane has 36 goals and assists in 4128 minutes (PL+CL) this year, Salah has 41 goals and assists in 200 fewer minutes and only behind Haaland and Mbappe in the best 5 leagues . As the 3rd more productive attacker in europe, I think hes more than keeping up.

Haaland's a striker. City wont turn him into a number 10 or a winger. He will remain a striker whose sole purpose is to score goals. They have other players for creativity. Not saying you are 100% wrong. but i think its just unlikely for Haaland to not score 30+ a season with City.

And why does that mean Haaland won’t keep up the scoring rate? All goals count the same and city are going to provide him with just as many chances. Doesn’t matter if they are standard inside the box finishes or not.

And many people seem to overlook that Haaland makes his goals look standard and simple but he gets to a ton of crosses that no one else can get to, Kane included, and can power over/through defenders with ease.

Rashford still hasn’t signed his new contract due to expire next summer but there’s never any mention of that either. We might not have won something for a while but we have the worst PR in the league. Always the butt of the jokes.

You're bringing a lot of irrelevant points into this.

Being a winger makes no difference, Salah was a winger in his first season too. Liverpool's midfield/other attackers didn't decline the very next season but Salah scored 10 fewer goals in 2 more games.

In that time his team has won the league, CL and got very close several other times. While he maintained a pretty consistent scoring rate in the league of 22, 19, 22, 23, 19. He's not even got close to 30 goals.

They finished last season on 93 points, scoring 94 goals, of which Salah only scored 23. The season after winning the CL they got 99 points in the league. Not what I'd call a team in decline.

As for getting more involved or the CL, that's a different argument, we're talking about scoring in the PL.

No one suggested Haaland would be converted to a winger or no10, it's completely irrelevant to what I said. Haaland can remain exactly who he is and still end up not repeating this feat.

No one other than Messi and Ronaldo has been able to maintain that kind of scoring over time. Nothing I've seen from Haaland suggests he's that kind player.

Irrespective of Levy's perceived stance about selling to another PL club, i think Kane will end up at Newcastle.

AH Perry: What a dick head you are!
If Kane stays it will be a statement of club loyalty!
Something the PL is badly short of these days.
City have de-valued what winning trophies is about
As they have won so many of late.
If Kane and the club can pull it together.
And win the league, that has to be worth multiple wins that other clubs have done!

I'm not arguing against what Haaland has done. For all the individual brilliance of both Haaland and Kane, football, foremost, is a team game.
If Haaland had been playing for Spurs this season, and Kane for Man City; who do you think would have been the top scorer?
By the way, Kane has broken far more scoring records than Haaland this season.
