Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I can understand the criticism he received in his early career because he was indeed clumsy. What was horrible, was the amount of stick he got last year when he scored 3 in a row for Sherwood. That was embarassing and only fueled by hatred for the manager, much like the stick Nabil got.

I just hope it doesn't all go wrong. The media frenzy, the inevitable England call up, transfer speculations and an agent already licking his lips. I hope he stays, keeps his fitness and his attitude and becomes the superstar we build our team around for years and years.

He clearly needs to keep up this form over 3 or 4 seasons but he has got everything; he can hold it up, he is quite good in the air, dribbles and beats man after man, scores from range, poaches, free-kicks. He has all the ability to be the best striker at the club since Klinsmann.
Most promising is that he's so influential in his general play. I don't like misleading statistics of 'this striker has scored X goals in X games, he's so hot right now', particularly when they ignore penalties.
Kane's not a guy who only contributes goals and would be like carrying an extra man if he had a dry spell (Defoe anyone?), his direct play will open doors for us regardless.

The next phase of his development is dealing with being double and triple man-marked - and believe me, he will be for the rest of the season given this evening's match. This will hopefully not be too much of a problem:

1) He has a wicked shot from distance. This let Bale contribute whenever he was being smothered more than a German facesitting enthusiast in the box.
2) He can barge through multiple defenders. Or at least draw a free kick (to Eriksen's delight).
3) Fantastic. If he's the 'danger man' other teams are trying to stifle, it'll buy Eriksen a lot more room to pull the strings. Bale's drawing of defenders certainly got the best out of Lennon in the 12-13 season.

I never thought he had it....really thought he would end up in the Champo, especially after his loan moves which didnt go that well.

Just wow. Shows how far heart and passion can push a player.

you should spend more time looking at the technical ability of players than slagging them off. Kane has shown evidence of great potential since a year or two ago. Just needed some self belief.

I didnt slag him off....and I didnt watch him on loan at Millwall and Norwich, so asumed, like Carrol, and Khumalo and countless others, that he wouldnt make it.

Congratulations for knowing all along that Kane would be this good.

That must be why you always said it....from years back....always called for him to be picked, from back in the days, when we had no one up top...you were there, championing Kanes technical abilities and demanding he start because we had a hidden gem.

I can understand some of the criticism he has received over the last few years. When he was on loan at Norwich a huge section of the fanbase would often slag him off and say he is average at best.
It just goes to show what a bit of faith and being played in the right position does for confidence in a player. Take a look at a certain young welsh LB we used to have and see where he has ended up. At one point we all questioned in one way or the other as to what we had signed there when we couldn't win a game with him in the side.

Thing is, I challenge one person, who even one year ago was demanding Kane start ahead of Soldado.....even earlier this season, when people had had enough of Ade, they wanted Soldado.

It was a "gym teacher" that we have to thank for this.

I can admit I didnt think he would make it, but now you see people crawling out the woodwork, who never once demanded Kane start last season, who "knew along" he was this good.

I hold my hands up and also thought he wouldn't make it in the premier league BUT you cannot simply deny he is doing the business now. All I can say is ALL HAIL KANE!!!! :pochlol:

Ahhh you as in you not as in you.....damn internet
That's exactly what I'm saying sammyspurs sammyspurs but I'm sure someone somewhere in a darkened part of the world wearing a very expensive new coat will be very angry right now. :adegrin2:
In case you read this I'm only joking. I'm here for the lolz not a fight.

Is it wrong to still not think he's very good? Scoring at a decent clip, I'll give him that. And probably our best striker at the moment.

But surely this isn't going to be the guy to lead the line after we have done our January business.....

What is it exactly that makes you think he's not very good?

Is it his top notch finishing, his perfect touch, his sharp as a tack footballing brain, his work rate, his hold up play, his ability to beat defenders?

Please tell me I am interested.
