Thing is, I challenge one person, who even one year ago was demanding Kane start ahead of Soldado.....even earlier this season, when people had had enough of Ade, they wanted Soldado.

It was a "gym teacher" that we have to thank for this.

I can admit I didnt think he would make it, but now you see people crawling out the woodwork, who never once demanded Kane start last season, who "knew along" he was this good.

it's not a Kane is shit or Kane is great camp, there is a middle. I was alerted to Kane about a year ago by BushHillSpurs BushHillSpurs who said he reckoned he would go far I had heard of him previously but without much knowledge. When I saw him play last year during Sherwood's reign it was pretty obvious he had ability particularly in terms of good movement even though some people on here thought he wouldn't make. I thought back then he was our best forward above Ade and Bobby and wanted him to start, at least get some game time, so that doesn't mean I thought he would smash up the chavs but I did think he would last with us. Difference this year is that to go along with his brain he looks far stronger and kind of quicker.

On the other hand I doubted Chadli, when I first saw him he looked neat and tidy but looked bulky and without much of a sting in his tail, he's proved me wrong. We all get things right and wrong, Kane impressed me when others thought he wouldn't make it, were as I am happy to eat my words over Chadli.

Mate, my only point was responding to someone who accused me of slagging off Kane, and implied if I was more like him, I would have seen Kanes abilities as far back two years ago.

So, Im simply wondering why "trifficTotnum" never, ever, ever once said that Kane should start ahead of Soldado last season.

Hands up I never thought Kane would be our number one striker. His loan moves to Championship clubs offered very little and I believed that would be the level where he would play. I remember singing his praises at Utd a couple of seasons ago, when he came on in the last minute, and basically put the ball in row Z and held play up winning a free kick. but fair play it just goes to show what determination and being given a chance can do, when I think of all the fees we have wasted on players when the academy kids should have been given more time to develop.....look at Mason, he was a forgotten man until a few weeks ago.......

I will hold my hands up and say that I have been one of Harry Kane's biggest doubters over the last couple of years, but i am so happy to have been proved wrong. He is possibly the best centre forward we have had since Martin Chivers, all those years ago.

If Hodgson overlooks him for the England squad I will be amazed

Fair enough Sammy when it comes to players particularly expensive experienced players we tend to give them more chances because we seem to believe that the golden stuff is in there even if it is not, young players don't get much of a chance and most fans at least in my experience follow that view. If Kane was called Kaneodo and had cost 30 million people would be screaming for him to get as many chances as it takes. Kane has had to fight tooth and nail to get in the team and should have been afforded more games time with his performances in the EL.

Don't think anyone could quite have predicted Kane's rise to this degree though, he reminded me of Sheringham when I watched him last year but with his new found speed and power fuck knows what he will be like.

I thought Harry Kane was utter, utter shite a couple of years back.

He has made me look like a right bellend, yet I couldn't care less!

Love the lad.

It wasn't that long ago that I told my dad that Harry Kane, whilst being a trier, was too slow and simply not good enough.

My dad now refuses to listen to anything I have to say on spurs.

:townhmm:

I didnt slag him off....and I didnt watch him on loan at Millwall and Norwich, so asumed, like Carrol, and Khumalo and countless others, that he wouldnt make it.

Congratulations for knowing all along that Kane would be this good.

That must be why you always said it....from years back....always called for him to be picked, from back in the days, when we had no one up top...you were there, championing Kanes technical abilities and demanding he start because we had a hidden gem.

Twat

Yes I have known all a long he was good enough for the first 11. His performance against aston villa about 2 years ago confirmed that. Can play left wing, behind the striker as a 10, lone striker. He was eventually given a decent run under Sherwood, scored 3 in 3 games towards the end of the season. His work rate is ridiculous and the highest in the squad. Can't you spot a decent player,ARE YOU THE LOVE CHILD OF BALDINI AND COMOLLI?

tit.

What is it exactly that makes you think he's not very good?

Is it his top notch finishing, his perfect touch, his sharp as a tack footballing brain, his work rate, his hold up play, his ability to beat defenders?

Please tell me I am interested.
Your question seems a tad loaded. Lets just say I don't think he is as good as people are making out.

I would like to single out players who also have massive potential. CAPOUE, STAMBOULI, CHIRICHES and of course LAMELA. All show the characteristics of becoming great players for spurs but the boo boys can't see it.
