Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I would like to single out players who also have massive potential. CAPOUE, STAMBOULI, CHIRICHES and of course LAMELA. All show the characteristics of becoming great players for spurs but the boo boys can't see it.

We all have our own assements as fans but it's Poch that matters as it's his vision, my own feeling are such

Capoue: Powerhouse, nice passing, get annoyed sometimes when he misses runners like Rose, he could be with the right attitude a top player.

Stambouli: Just needs to up his speed/power to compete in the prem which I hope Poch's training will sort out, nice passer and calm on the ball.

Chirches: good qualities in terms of speed (for a defender) and good skill but prone to brain farts.

Lamela: Exceptional talent, maybe our most naturally gifted footballer but his decision making lets him down (when to pass/shoot etc), needs more experience kind of reminds me of the young Ronaldo when he used to do tricks in the corner all day but lacked end product.

Exactly, I wouldnt want to read the first 20 pages of a Gareth Bale thread for his career at this club either when he couldnt buy a game or win, guess what things change people! some become great, others we ruin!!
It's another lesson for fans to give young players a bit of room and time. It was apparent three years ago that Kane had ability enough to maybe become a decent player for us one day when Harry had him in the Europa but I remember loads of people writing him off back then even, at 18/19.
Youngsters need our support and a fair crack of the whip even when they make mistakes.
as you say: how many do we ruin?

Rose is an example perhaps. Yesterday he showed both what makes him good and what makes him bad. He totally sold himself on their first goal, which as a LB was not nice to see. Then again, he made some other very good challenges and was 110% commited when he had an opportunity to score. Although many of us prefer Davies, perhaps Rose will improve more and end up the better player.

I wrote Bale off and I wrote Kane off yet I thought Tom Carroll was Xavi 2.0

I will continue to write off our Youngsters as it appears to be working.

I like to think that I saw something in him from the very start, that he was more than just a big lump and had a decent touch and vision, but obviously I had no idea he would turn out this good. The most amazing thing isn't how good he is right now, but that he even got the chance to become that. He could have just as easily been loaned out and forgotten about, then eventually sold to a championship club or something, but instead everything came together just right. Makes you wonder how many other players could have turned out brilliant but something derailed their progress at just the pivotal moment and they never fulfilled their potential.

I am completely at a loss as to how Harry Kane has turned into such an outrageous talent in such a short space of time. New training facilities at Spurs Lodge paying for themselves already?

In any case, come on Harry you absolute ledge - I hope you can keep this fire burning as long as possible!

It is easy to get carried away when you see how well Kane has been playing this season, but it does make you think about how our prospects from the past might have turned out if they were given more of a chance.

They've taken the Bale DNA from Kenny McEvoy & put it in Harry , expect the hair band soon

It has to be self belief along with the great facilities. I'd also suggest that seeing someone like Bale go from where he was when we bought him to what he became when we sold him has to help the self belief for many of our academy players.

Still Yorkshire_Spurs Yorkshire_Spurs not as bad as my mate who said that Messi would amount to nothing when Messi was about 18.

In fairness there were a few people earlier in this thread saying he should be starting and is good enough. It only needs saying once though.

I said the same this season....didnt hear anyone saying it last year though. It was all about Soldado and how he WILL come good. Where is all that talk now? Wheres all the Soldado fans now?

I dont see anyone saying how its great we have two top class strikers...you know, Soldado is world class isnt he. Now Kane has stepped up, problem solved.....isnt it?

In fact, trifficTotnum is one of Tims biggest detractors....maybe why I didnt hear him saying last season that he thought it was good Kane was finally being picked....even though "he knew all along" he was good enough for the first team.

I didnt hear him berating AVB for not picking him when we couldnt score for shit either. How odd.

Only needs saying once? Like it was only said once that people want Schniderlin, and that Tim should wear a suit, or that Ade is a cunt, or that Lloris is great?

Give over...

I'll be the first to hold my hands up and admit that I never thought Harry Kane would make the grade but I am delighted that I was wrong. He is superb and his attitude has rubbed off onto the other players.

Keep it up H, you are already a hero among the fans.

There were a few, if I have nothing better to do later I'll go back to find them. As for TrifficTotnum I have no idea what he thought and quite frankly I couldn't care less. I intended to just point out some people have rated him for a while to their credit, probably should have made my point more clearly though. Apologies.

As for the only needs saying once part. You're right, some people do go on and on about random things but most people don't. But the examples you've mentioned are slightly different in that they mostly refer to things which we see examples of week in week out and so they're topics fresh on the mind. When no-one sees Kane for half a season of course people aren't going to bring him up daily.
